If you guys played us in Lafayette, I'm sure we would reciprocate by introducing you as LSU A&M at Baton Rouge, your official name.

If anyone wonders why there is so much LSU hatred, there is your answer.

I want to be an LSU fan and I have been for several years but this type of attitude lessens my interest in their program. It leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I will be watching and routing for LSU this weekend but I really think the LSU fans (the ones that have a need to put down state schools) need to keep their mouths shut and enjoy the status of their program.

These LSU fans sound like sore winners. How can I support that nonsense?

You can't. We all have to be bigger people but it's got to start somewhere. Y'all are jealous of our flagship status and we think y'all are "uppity" for trying to leave behind your directional school label.

I don't want to get into a "war of words" here; but I think you're missing the point of many Cajun posters. There may be a few that feel "jealous"; but I think most are not at all; moreso, disenchanted with that status. A flagship should be a leader, should be doing things that allow its "followership" to prosper as well. We simply think LSU has lived off its flagship status for too long, and in doing so has negatively affected the other state institutions. I'd love to see my university become a flagship for the UL system; but only if we earned it - - not simply being given to us.

I am jealous of your resources. They are 10 times ours simply because of the conference you are in. In fact most fans of BCS schools never consider the resource difference between themselves and other schools. You guys are very lucky to be part of the upper tier. That is why it is foolish to be arrogant about your better program. It is easy to field competitive teams when one BCS bid brings 17 MM$. That is more than twice as much as our budget. Their are about 70 schools that are big time. The other 225 are all mid major. Those 70 get about 90% of the attention. You should appreciate having those advantages.
