I'm a PE. Felt easy to me, in school, but now knowing the people that tried and couldn't finish, I now understand how it was hard (we are a jack of all trades engineer - a little Civil, lots of Mechanical, lots of Chemical, a little Geology, etc). Even though Im stuck in oil and gas, I wouldn't change for the world...I love what I do. As for my kids, one day, I'd try to stear them towards Aeronautics, Nuclear, or something the like.

As for sports and PE, wasn't that hard, just have to prioritize and be grounded (not too easy for a twenty year old).

I'm Petroleum also. And don't worry about those MEs. After graduation their paychecks will be known as PE light.

Mechanical engineers build things, electrical engineers plug them in.

I could not imagine taking those classes AND playing a sport in college. Respect!
Also, DU is the toughest academic institution in the Sun Belt...and by a country mile. Not to say UL's engineering programs are inadequate, quite the contrary, it's just Denver University is one extremely tough school to get into.

Why? Jerry Babb graduated in mechanical engineering from UL. I mean... it's not like it's electrical engineering... where you actually have to have an imagination to understand how things work. All you need in mechanical engineering is a bucket of grease and a wrench.

Because electrical engineers have nothing to measure.
