Thank you UNTfan, I get it. Those two hurricanes may have had something to do with it. Many players from the new orleans area had family living with them in the dorms. Good post, stay classy denton.

AN ABSURDLY PREMATURE ASSESSMENT OF: LOUSIANA-LAFAYETTE
S.M.Q. spins the wheel for a hastily-rendered, too-soon look at a random school's prospects for the fall, sans inevitable academic and criminal suspensions, sudden transfers, debilitating injuries and other miscellaneous misfortunes of the long summer
LOUISIANA
Forward steps may be small, but it won't take a leap for team that missed its conference championship by a field goal
PAST FIVE SEASONS: 20-37 (15-18 Sun Belt) - 2005: 6-5 (5-2 Sun Belt)
STARTERS BACK, ROUGHLY: 13 (6 Offense, 7 Defense)
WHAT'S CHANGED: Not much, other than a slight breakthrough that led to a four-game winning streak to close 2005, a winning record and the share of the Sun Belt Championship, none of which the team had approached in any of Coach Rickey Bustle's first three seasons.
WHAT'S THE SAME:Lafayette's( LOUISIANA's) going to run, run, run, run, run, take a drag or two. The heart of the offense remains in senior quarterback Jerry Babb and sophomore running back Tyrell Fenroy, the Sun Belt Freshman of the Year in '05, when he ran for 95-plus yards per game against a few atrocious defenses en route to heading the seventh-best rushing offense in the country. His help freed up Babb, a big white pocket passer-looking guy who had nevertheless led an atrocious ground game as a sophomore, to, well, hand off more, because the passing game fell off the charts even by Sun Belt standards (132 ypg). But Babb still ran pretty well (44 ypg), along with returning backup QB Michael Desormeaux (about 61 ypg) and the unit wound up leading the league in scoring and total yards anyway.
That is the worst preview I have ever seen and this guy should do more research. I stopped readin when he referred to Babb as a big white pocket passer.Originally Posted by NewsCopy
then I guess he should talk to Kansas St. about being a pocket passer, when he broke off an 80 yard run against them.

As far as Fenroy and Wallace, I am sure this is the year that is going to be huge. I know last year our running game was unbelievable considering the Cajuns have never really had a strong running game but this year will change everything. Let me first say that Fenroy is my boy. The guy can run like nobodys business and no one can get in his way. He doesnt give up. I loved him the first time I saw him run. But people let me tell you something. I heard lots of things about Deon and thought, no way this guy can run as well as Fenroy... then I went to the spring game and when he ran the screen I could not believe what I saw. From the time he caught the ball and turned to look up field, there were about 4-5 defenders coming in on him and when he turned it on, they didnt know what happened. He passed through and on like he was the only one on the field. I was amazed and even though Fenroy is stil my boy, I've got plenty of room for what I saw, and with these two in the backfield, NO ONE will stop us. It is going to be an unbelievable season.
Defense is faster this year too, they show a power of being unafraid to hit and force against the run. I cant wait.
Thanks for the work Clutch
For those that missed the VW game. Here is a LINK to some pics from the play ULforlife is talking about.Originally Posted by ULforlife

Collegefootballnews.com has their preview of the Cajuns up today. In another article a guy was asked to name his conference champion picks and he of course, picked the Cajuns. Hopefully this season will turn out as well as we all hope!

Bout time some people realize it
I really like CFN. They give more coverage to smaller conferences than the bigger websites do and I like that.Originally Posted by ULforlife
