Think NMSU can make it on 3 day turn around

The whole freaking conference has NO Saturday games in October. Brutal for the fans. But good for their Facebook network.

So who we going to replace the NMSU game with? SDSU is a good possibility to come to Cajun Field per twitter. Make it happen Dr Maggard!!! Great opponent.

Given UL’s game against New Mexico State is likely cancelled, FBS teams with an opening include Baylor, Miami, Ohio, SDSU, and SMU. UL would likely want to avoid a 2nd FCS game but may not have a choice if they can’t get something with one of these teams.

Once New Mexico State joined Conference USA we were made aware that it wanted to cancel our scheduled game for Sept. 2,” said John David Wicker, SDSU’s director of athletics. “Luckily, we were able to move Idaho State to that date and we are close to finalizing another home opponent for our opener on Aug. 26.”

Need another home game.

We've played and beat NMSU so many times it doesn't even register any more. Just schedule another home FCS or P5 that's drivable IDGAF

It will most probably be McNeese, but SDSU coming to CF is a possibility is the talk. If not let’s just play a lower tier P5 on the road again and get a check for CF renovation.

Check would replace lost game day revenue

These games against NMSU should never had been scheduled in the first place...Maggard in a race to the bottom instead of a 2 for 1 P5 game

SDSU is getting 1.5 mill from the cancelation... better do the same

We need to stick to our guns and get our check. NMSU put us in a bind.

This is a sign from God to go ahead and ditch our old scheduling philosophy. It's time to upgrade. We need at least 2 P5s each season.

It's better financially for us.

More likely to get a 2 for 1.

Less likely to get stuck with a Home Game opponent nobody cares about.
