Re: New Mexico State dropped from 2023 Football Schedule
So we have what roughly a month to get a deal for another game to replace NMSU?

I would do a spaced out 4 for one if the appearance fee was for all 4.
A 3 for 1 with two appearance fees, which basically leaves a home and home on the back end, which always has the potential for a major buy out, but you take that possibility and run with it.
A 2 for 1 requires one appearance fee and a h&h.
Realistically you can't expect to get payed for every game and then expect them to come for free. The exception being a 4 for 1 that is so far out on the calendar that the current administration doesn't care.
Re: New Mexico State dropped from 2023 Football Schedule
How about a game in the superdome against sdsu for old times sake
Re: New Mexico State dropped from 2023 Football Schedule
At some point in time the administration took the words "a one and one doesn't pay" overly literal.
Re: New Mexico State dropped from 2023 Football Schedule
. . . we just have way too many venues to play in . . .

We have one home venue, how is it trip to the Super Dome too many? considering that one third of the best players in the state are within 50 miles of it and a prime recruiting area for UL.

I’m sure independence stadium in Shreveport would let us schedule a game there. Lol.
We are Louisiana. All of Louisiana!

No more games ever in KarensPort. It's got to be the lamest city ever. The bowl game itself was ok minus the Sub-Zero weather but once you step foot outside the stadium it's like a nanny state.
How do you have a bowl kick off party and everything shuts down at 10pm. I don't mean just the restaurant I mean everything outside the casinos. Lame ASF. The day Marley, Jeff pub and Legend closes at 10 would be the day I move out of Louisiana. And I don't even go downtown anymore

Blind Tiger, Stray Cat and Noble Savage (no idea if all are still operating businesses) all closed at 10PM?

Years back Shreveport tried to copy DTA. The video of the event was hilarious. NOBODY and I mean NOBODY was up and moving around. Personal chairs were orderly aligned with people just sitting and watching. Like fun was a foreign concept.

As someone who lives in the Shreveport area, it's ridiculously boring almost all the time. I miss Lafayette regularly. We basically just have the world's smallest aquarium, and a bunch of casinos. With Mardi Gras coming up, Shreveport has the most lame parades you'll ever see. If you're a fan of anything but country or rap, don't hold your breath for any good concerts coming to the area.
I'm coaching 3 sports at school to help from going out of my mind with boredom. I really enjoyed the Indy Bowl along with the group I went with. Would love more events like that, especially involving the Cajuns.

I truly believe the Indy Bowl would have been a bigger event and much more attended if not for it being on the coldest day of 2022. It was hard to enjoy that day with how cold it was. Wow. Hope we can make it back one day in decent weather. It is an easy drive.

I am seeing that Alice Cooper is coming to Shreveport in May. I am hoping to make the trip. I met Alice about 10 years ago and he is great guy that still brings it at his shows.
