Yes. If they play us 1-3-1 that is a gift. They will not.

Texas state switched to a 1-3-1 with their smallest player(Harrell)on the floor playing under the basket and it gave us fits…

That is where the PG is supposed to play on the 1-3-1

….Years back as the head basketball coach at St Louis HS, we played !~3~1…..always thought the key was anticipation of the pass to the man that you would cover…..that made a fake pass in the opposite direction and a quick pass in the real direction the hardest to cover……all but one kid played football, and the back one running toward the corner shooter could be scary as he was a future UL very tough footballer…….Delbert Deville!

Your best athlete should run the baseline in a 1-3-1, or someone you're trying to hide from foul trouble...Back in the Shipley Days, the 1-3-1 was a staple...

Usually the fastest but also the smallest because they have to cover the baseline side to side. 1-3-1 is a very good trapping defense so you want as much length at the top and sides as possible and usually a big to play the middle of the 3 to clog passing lanes.

I wasn't a PG in HS, but I played the back when we went to 1-3-1. It's a tough cover, for sure!

My point was it gave us fits. Tennessee fastest player is not a midget

1-3-1 can give you fits for sure, but if you can hit your outside shots you can get them out of it extremely quickly. If you are not hitting your outside shots it can be serious trouble.
Re: #13 Louisiana vs. #4 Tennessee
You can also overload the zone to one side, skip pass out to the weak side for the open J...

Maybe I’ve missed it but does anyone have a status update on Greg Williams, Jr’s toe injury?

I heard he is fine, it was really precautionary after the fact for him to still be in the boot. The expectation is that he plays tonight. Granted anything can change, but I would expect to see him in the starting lineup.
