Poor logic. Just because the properties are unused at other times during a be year, it doesn’t devalue them at Mardi Gras.
There is no other option, and the university should charge as such.

Re: Mardi Gras at Cajun Field
So to use Cajun Field’s parking lot for the car show and Mardi Gras equals a combined total of a little over $25,500.
We really know how to create value in our properties. LOL.
Re: Mardi Gras at Cajun Field
Don't the local car dealerships donate cars to the coaches to use?

I remember when we used to let the Christmas tree guy use a piece of prime real estate facing Congress in exchange for a couple plate lunches at Dwyer’s…

No. It’s smothered steak over jambalaya (or white rice, however I feel), with green beans and potato au gratin and a white bread roll.

What an idiotic take. Maybe you helped write the contract. Or maybe you just have no idea what value of assets mean. Or maybe you're just a troll...

Perhaps they could use the former location for the car show before they started using Cajun field

Or, maybe I realize that having an empty parking lot not being used for the majority of the year brings in revenue. But since you seem to think you’re the end all when it comes to the university, why don’t you stroll into the office of president of the university and tell him what an idiot he is for not valuing the situation as you see it.
Or, get on your little podcast and rant about it.
After your meeting, make sure you report back here the results.

I think this dismay some posters have of the low cost of renting out prime property for Mardi Gras/Car Shows comes from a place of always being told how poor we are as an athletic department. I think if we weren't always told "we don't have money for that" or "the money tree is gone" and we see UL-owned property being rented out dirt cheap, it just doesn't make sense.
