Just wondering what you guys think he'll play at the next level? He'll have to put on about 20 lbs to be a solid NFL tight end. I wonder if some coach wouldn't see the huge mismatch (ala Marcus Colston) that a 6'6" 240 lb WR creates especially in the red zone. Just trying to get a discussion going.... What do you guys think?

He is the perfect TWEENER!!!!! Put him where he causes defenses the most problems-----I like a short slot where he can seal block on outside runs, get quick passes over the middle or outside the box, or just stretch the field -----In a Nick. or dime I like him one on one with one of the lilliputian 3rd and long def. backs!!!!!Quote:

Good question. I think it depends on a couple of things. How well he shows out as a blocker and what his 40 time is. If he goes higher than about 4.55-4.6 teams will be hesitant to use him as a WR. Ultimately, I see him as a Tight end. I think that is where he can make his mark.
First off, he is a very underrated blocker. second, if you use 40 times to determine whether he can be an NFL WR then it's a good thing you're not a GM. Jerry Rice ran a 4.7 And I guarantee LG will run a better 40 than thatQuote:

You're not a General manager either, so our opinions mean about the same. Jerry Rice is very much the exception rather than the rule. How many big time WR's in today's game are running 4.7's? Marques Colston ran in the mid 4.5's at the combine. He is on the low end of what NFL teams look for in the 40. Of course, this is just opinion.Quote:

For the most part I think today's better WR's are fast.....I do agree about Route running though. I think Wes Welker exemplifies what you say.
I just don't think Ladarius moves like a WR. We will see though how he is drafted. Hopefully he has an uninjured season so he can do well and get drafted high.
I will agree Ladarius can be a TE if and ONLY IF he is able to put on at least 20 pounds. that's gonna be hard to do but if he can, I think he has a better chance of succeeding
Ladarius reminds me of Jerry babb. Didn't look like he was fast but when he got in the open, no one could catch him.

Ladarius is a catcher. NFL coaches and scouts will find this out.
And long stride guys like Ladarius are deceptively fast and QBs love them as a target. It's much more difficult for a DB to figure out how to stay on them. His height is a huge attraction to NFL scouts. With Ladarius's soft hands, great height, and athleticism, he's a very nice NFL WR prospect. He'll get listed as a TE going into the draft, but he'll be drafted as a WR. Like someone else mentioned... he's got the Colston reality working in his favor. Everyrone is going to want the next Marques... with two more inches of height.Quote:
