Bob is upset because he thought he was the top leading candidate. How could they possibly overlook Bob?

Re: ULM hires new HC for Basketball
Bob destroyed our fan base, his monotone no friendly cant hold a conversation with people attitude destroyed our fan base to 300 people per game. He will be lucky to ever find a head coaching job at a meaningful D1 school ever again. SIDE NOTE, his wife was terrible as well.

Time to look forward. Don’t be like Lot’s wife and look back, it will just make you salty.

I'm a Salty Dog kind of guy, if I'm not drinking a whiskey!

Don't be a "Lucy", either...

Re: ULM hires new HC for Basketball
ULM made a heck of a choice. ONE winning season at Troy, where they actually finished 6th and blind squirreled their way into the NCAA tournament. Perfect fit.
AFA CBM, he was already looking at retirement, much like Keith Richard. Just wanted to get to the end.
We got a new coach, new ticket plan, time to fix the other issues with the game day experience at the dome.

Re: ULM hires new HC for Basketball
ULM needs to be asked to exit the SBC. I don’t care how long they have been a member or how they helped out the conference when LaTech left for the WAC. They simply are not a peer institution/program.

Likely an unpopular opinion but I think Monroe needs to go and Tech needs to take their place.

Re: ULM hires new HC for Basketball
I would rather not be in the same conference with another State of LA school, but I would like to play tbem as often as possible every year.

I’m all in favor of that.

This guy nailed it, no matter what program. Use to work for ULM.

ULM hasn't won in so long that they don't understand that even winning does not necessarily equal attendance increases in the current era of college sports.

Lots of people have that opinion. However, league folks are not considering removing ULM from the conference in any manner. Only way it happens is if Warhawks leave voluntarily.

His last sentence, we’re in the same boat.

Yes. We need our real natural rival in our conference. Send ULM to the Southland Conference.

Great artificial rivalries can grow within a conference. No doubt.
For me a "conference" should be for things you can't accomplish on your own.
You should never be in a conference with a "natural" rival.
Enhance your OOC schedule with natural rivals.

USM was a nice add in that regard ….. it also gave our northern rival some “separation “ in CUSA

Until the administration begins to understand that the game has become the secondary draw to the event. Hudspeth made Cajun Field THE EVENT to be at for 3 years and people just happened to go to the games.
When it’s only about the game, people get a better game day experience at home on ESPN+. It’s cheaper, more convenient and easier to incorporate it into your day than actually going to a stale atmosphere, outside of the stadium.
We have priced and policies our way out of the event atmosphere and manor only about the game. We do not showcase enough consistent marquee matchups to garner large crowds based solely off of the product on the field.
Until the administration can get its head out of its proverbial ass and realize that the section of our base that creates said atmosphere, isn’t the wine and cheese crowd we might begin to see more support again.

HUD era was getting potential fans out that USL mindsets.
Yes, UL needed to go up on the costs of some things. But the across the board money grab and the tight fisted control on future fans sent people to ESPN+, at best.
