Basketball Season Tickets
Re: Basketball Season Tickets
$100 a season ticket is a steal. What a deal!

That is a real deal. Hell, concession prices at the dome will be at least 5 or 6 times higher than that over the course of the season (if you choose to participate in that racket).

Renewals are August 30th. However, all tickets are $100. The only thing that changes is the Champions Fund fee. So those buying now are just putting their $100 down to cover the ticket cost. After renewals, a rep will reach out to these people to pick a seat and collect Champions Fund fee if they end up picking a seat that requires one. There is a selection of $100 sections that do not.
I actually really like this move. Allows people to lock in now while excited about the new hire without having to move renewals up or have people wait to buy until after renewals, which is almost 6 months away. I am very hard on this administration. I have to give them their credit in situations like this when they come through with an excellent idea.

Thanks for the info. I like my seats. Especially now.
Re: Basketball Season Tickets
$100 is an absolute. "Squeeze The Deal" price.
The all black interior of the CajunDome makes it look like a morgue.
Only a full count will change/hide that look.
$100 and a fired up, engaged coach just might bring that place to life.
Re: Basketball Season Tickets
What section will the $100 season tickets be in the Cajun Dome?

This season they were in the SW corner of the dome.

Technically all tickets are $100. Additional Champions funds fees are added based on location of the seat you choose.

Great deal. I’m now a first time basketball season ticket holder. Fired up!
Re: Basketball Season Tickets
Went to buy some yesterday. I was told that l could pay now, but I could not choose my seat. I was prepared to pay as much as $500 per seat. No way I am paying anything without knowing what I am getting.
I know existing ticket holders have preference. I have no issue with that. I am perfectly willing to choose from seats that are currently unsold.

Same for me. I went to buy seats when the day the hire of Coach Q was announced. But I’m not paying now without knowing what I’m buying. As you said, show me the seats that were not held by season tickets last year and let me choose the ones I want. Or….just wait for my money when I can see what I’m buying.

Yeah, last year, I simply wanted to move my 2 basketball seats next to a buddy that had 2 open seats next to him, but they made me wait until after the renewal period in case someone with a higher rank wanted those seats. LOL, so dumb

That is strange. A couple of years ago, a friend purchased tickets next to mine prior to renewal deadline. They were open the previous year. I guess they want you to have the chance to purchase seats that are not renewed. Nothing else makes sense
Re: Basketball Season Tickets
They do this in baseball as well. Season ticket holders get first option to renew or move seats before they open them to new ticket requests. The one thing about basketball is I can't imagine they had more than 1500-2000 season ticket holders last year.

But why aren’t non-season ticket held seats available immediately?

A season ticket holder may want to move or add additional seats, and they want to give them first option to do that.

Gotcha. Makes sense.

100%
Re: Basketball Season Tickets
My issue is this: If your policy is to allow current season ticket holders the uncontested opportunity to move or add seats you should not open sales of tickets to others until a protected sale period closes out. The University could have easily opened a 2 week window for upgrades and additions for prior year season ticket holders before opening general sales. The "new Coach" buzz would have still been active.

Try only 900 season tickets.
