At that point, Levin said he then stood up and told the group, “This is the last game I have coached at Iowa,” and started to leave. Levin said players then grew emotional, with one in particular saying he was “leaving us.”
I’ve never understood the whole point behind kneeling for the national anthem. Kneeling during the national anthem is one of the least demanding forms of protest. It requires no investment of time, money, or genuine effort toward the social justice issues they’re outraged over, and all being done for attention in my opinion. In essence, it comes across as a way of saying, “Hey, don’t forget about me today.”
