Someone should have let the cooking club into their dugout. They would have taken care of him.
I'm down for a Racoon mascot. I can't think of another school that has one. It would be as unique as the name Ragin Cajuns.
If albineaux was deemed offensive by some, the second syllable of the word raccoon would likely be as well
We do have a lot of raccoons around here. (Riverside Inn even has pet raccoons greeting you on the way in and out). It may make a nice costume too. Kids think they are cute. Has potential! We’ve been called coon a___s for a long time. A lot is us embrace it!!!
We could have a pair... name them Boudreaux and Clotilde.
Or maybe Momma Rita and Daddy Jack.. with a hat tip to Doug Kershaw.
I can see every kid wanting a cute little stuffed raccoon with a Cajun jersey on it. I’d get them for the grandkids.
Could sell them at the new Bucceees!
Ragin RAC
Ragin coon asses and Ragin Coons
I don't see that getting through Martin Hall's PC police
Hey, Buccees is doing a beaver. That got through their PC police!!!
FYI, one was caught near Robicheaux Center in the past week, was rabid.
Ragin Raccoonasses
Call him chaoui" (pronounced "shah-wee").
Seriously, Navy has goat. Army has a mule. The Auburn Tigers have an eagle.
And a racoon is a perfect Cajun: Smart, clever, resourceful and eats most anything. Can't get much more Cajun than that.

The albino alligator and the raccoon are both funny, but not to be taken seriously. It’s sad that the administration won’t empower the students, faculty, staff, and alumni to vote on an appropriate mascot. Give us viable options and let’s move forward with an identity. This will further build school pride and branding!
