Who is everyone thinking? Wish list?
Few names…
Quannas White - Asst. Houston
Devin Johnson - Asst. Texas A&M
Lavar Ball
Mr. White is a St. Aug alum from NOLA. Supposedly a good recruiter.

Mr. Johnson is a UNO alum, also with good recruiting credentials.

To me, being able to recruit, despite limited NIL funding, needs to be the primary qualification for the new coach. It is much easier to coach with good talent (see Bob Marlin a couple of years ago). If the next person is not an outstanding recruiter he will not be any more successful than Marlin was.
Personally my wish list was a national coaching search and that is being done, so I’m pleased thus far. On the Boyd issue I would love to see him on staff but not in the head role. We will need an energetic, almost salesmanesque person on staff, and he fits that bill.
My biggest hope is people support the new coach, even if their preferred candidate is not picked.

The last 3 coaching hires have been relatively predictable and more importantly all three had ties to Louisiana, so look for more of the same again.
Not sure a national search takes place
Last 3 coaching hires were pre-Maggard
Idk much about the who’s who of the college basketball world. But give me a young guy with energy to give a jolt to this program.
Roster management is now the most important job of a staff. Coaches have to recruit their own players every year now before adding new athletes to the program. The new coach will need to be energetic in selling his vision for this program, help raise money and get his student body excited about this program.
