Games of Interest Week 12
Tx state vs south AL
Just realized they play Friday at 2:30. So we will know Friday night how big Saturdays game is.
Re: Games of Interest: Tx state vs south Al
While it doesn’t mean much, really just perception. The sunbelt east has always seemed to feel they were better in football than the west. The record showed as much for a few years. But last year the west was better by one game after Troy won the championship. This year the west is 25-24 East is 24-25 in conference. Only 2 games left between East and west. Arkansas state vs odu this weekend and the championship. If odu beats Arkansas state it will be tied 25-25 and the championship will determine it again.

Good stuff.
Down to the wire

If Marshall and Cajuns both finish conference w/ one loss. Where is the Conference Championship Game played?

I calculated the average of the 3 rankings (Anderson & Hester, Massey, Colley ) which SBC may use to determine..we are currently ranked 8 spots better than Marshall

If they beat JMU does that boost them ahead of UL with a ULM win? I think it'll be close

A beating a 3 loss JMU should not be that much of a boost

You would think so, but for some reason, the computers seem to love JMU.

I dont see them jumpin over 8 spots. They would have to absolutely romp JMU. I think if we both had the same amount of losses a win over JMU would get them over us.

Does that fact that ULM beat JMU help us?

ULM is considerably below JMU in the computer rankings that I have seen.
Re: Games of Interest: Tx state vs south Al
id imagine it keeps things a wash if we both win

Tulane vs Memphis is the only college game on thanksgiving. I’ll be watching for sure, or snoring.

Louisiana would OWN that day (nation wide) if they had only stuck to tradition.

Actually, it's "the average of 4 rankings: Anderson & Hester, Massey, Colley and Wolfe" (no Harvard comma after Colley, even though it is needed for clarity).

It seems unlikely that the change after potential victories over JMU & ULM would make a large difference, but there is no easy way to tell.
It doesn't change anything. The sine qua non is winning Saturday.
(Some day ask me about when I was in the Navy, and was the guest aboard a teakwood yacht in Hong Kong harbor, named 'The Sinequan.')

Actually, a way to estimate the changes occurred to me. Look at the average rankings of JMU & ULM, and assume they will be 1/12 of the total. I think that by taking our current combined ranking, multiplying it times 11, adding in the ULM combined ranking, then dividing the total by 12 might do it??
I don't have time today, but if someone does it would make for another considerations.
