Week 12 - SBC Attendance
Pretty sad for UL. Conference leader and (near) worse attendance.
Saturday is our last home game, Senior's Day, and playing for Western Division lead and conference championship host. We need a full stadium!
Saturday Nov 16
ULM @ Auburn - 88,043
Coastal @ Marshall - 24,175
JMU @ ODU - 21,984
Troy @ GS - 21,762
USM @ Texas State - 22,618
USA @ Louisiana - 16,063
stAte @ GSU - 14,047

Yet, basically no promotion from the university that I have heard or seen. The average/casual fan more than likely has no clue about this game.

That is correct.

Re: Week 12 - SBC Attendance
They did a good job with the in stadium experience last week. But the promotion outside of social media and on campus + around Lafayette is not there. Has not been there for years.
Some say "worry about that in the offseason." Problem with that is that nothing is done in the offseason. Worry about season tickets and improvements to overall game day experiences in the offseason.
Easy changes to game-to-game operation and marketing what your team is doing NOW is a must IN SEASON! Do it as soon as you have an opportunity. Put it in people's faces. But they don't do that. At least the marketing piece.
We may have a modest bump in overall attendance vs last year and the year before, but being in the bottom 1/4th of the league is embarrassing. Especially with a team that will win no less than 8 games. We used to be tops in the league not much more than a decade ago winning 8 regular season games.

That is totally the point.
It is imperative to expose every available non-fan to whats going on or the fan base, will continue to dwindle.

With current promotions and social media, algorithms <i>"if you have no clue about this game, you are not a fan or an average fan or a casual fan, you are just not a fan . . ."</i> and there is little chance of you ever becoming one

More needs to be done outside of social media.
Social media is preaching to the choir. Algorithms lock you in to existing fans, they don't expand your audience.
There is a HUGE unaware population out there. Generations of potentional fans.
Go get em.

most of those you speak of are not potential fans of Louisiana because they are fans of LSU

Attendance, coverage, awareness, interest, passion, MIA campus involvement. No banners, no water. With more of a focus on having designated hush mongers run interference than taking small corrective measures.
All while there is more to work with than ever before

I was answering a question and you missed the point.
Banners are about making the people who went to game feel better about their current and past decision and reminds them that it was a good choice, then, now and in the future.
However it is evidence that the fan base, has dwindled because not producing a championship banner would never happen with a healthy fan base.
