Yep. Started by a former player who is frustrated with current marketing of the program and decided to try something different to make it happen

Re: Unofficial gumbo cook off
This would be a great NIL fundraiser. The winner would get to ride in the NIL parade on a float. Just a thought.

Each UL home game should have a “cook off” with different meal (jambalaya, rice n gravy, gumbo, etc) then senior day would be the championship cook off between the top 2 from previous weeks.
That would be 100% cajun culture

Hope the link works.
Interesting listen from Blake Bourque on Facebook. Gives a good talk about fan support.
Updates on the gumbo cookoff which it sounds like it’s going to be for the Troy game and put on by Cajun country rice. Geaux Blake way to promote.

It was years ago, but I entered a tailgate chili cook off. We won! Told everyone it was elk but was just beef, haha.

If the RCAF finds out they'll charge admission and a fee for each bowl used...

I once judged a gumbo cookoff (as PooPoo Broussard) deep in Cajun country. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would sit down at a table and sample some of the worst "gumbo" I've ever tasted. I wasn't alone in my judgement. One of them actually had olives in it. It was a sad day. A sad, sad day.

The pessimist in me thinks that this is going to get screwed up by the Administration one way or another.
I watch Blake's post last night and I agree on pretty much every point he makes. Many of us have said the exact same thing here for years.
I'm optimistic that things will start turning our way. But I've been around to long to believe it before I see it.

Either that or they'll shut it down because of the liability. Can't have anyone burning their palate.

Re: Unofficial gumbo cook off
I requested this several times as a attendance increasing strategy!
