Re: Plane crash in Lafayette
Yes crashed on take off. One person on board no survivors. Struggling to gain altitude and hit a tree.
Re: Plane crash in Lafayette
Crashed near the entrance to Oakbourne country club. Looks like it crashed on the driving range.

Nothing on Flightware, no departures for hour+ block of time.

I saw that. Sometimes they miss private plane info. I haven't been able to find ADSB info on the flight. I know the pilot. Very experienced.
Re: Plane crash in Lafayette
Looks like the crash is on the 18th fairway, at the dogleg near the grouping of live oaks and the maintenance building. Word is the guy flying did not make it. Big Ragin Cajun supporter. Prayers for him and his family.
Re: Plane crash in Lafayette
I heard it was Greg Manual of Manual Builders. Is that correct?

I apologize Slick, I heard that, but did not want to run my mouth about something I was not sure about.
I am quite sure about the location of the crash site from a few videos I viewed, so I just wanted to clear that up.

Re: Plane crash in Lafayette
Had a friend on the fairway when it happened. Saw the video. Full fuel tanks, so you can imagine. Greg was known and loved by so many people. What's crazy is there were people on the course that knew him, but didn't know it was his plane til after.
Re: Plane crash in Lafayette
The plane was a Beech craft G36 Bonanza. Not the V tail but in the family of aircraft known as "Doctor Killer". A family of aircraft known for fatal crashes.
