MBB: Louisiana Adds Another Top-Level Scorer in Davis

Louisiana men's basketball signed another elite scorer with the addition of Koron Davis. In two seasons at the junior college level, Davis scored 1,082 points between LA Southwest and Paris Junior College.
Koron is a talented player who can play multiple positions," said head coach Bob Marlin. "He can score the ball at all three levels and uses his athleticism to flourish in transition. His length aids him defensively and in rebounding the ball."
Davis scored 23.8 points per game at LA Southwest, earning California All-State honors in 2023. He also added 6.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. Davis was an efficient scorer, shooting 187-for-389 (.481) from the field and 35-for-106 (.330) from deep. He scored over 40 points twice in a game and finished in double figures in all but one game.
Before that, he spent a year at Paris Junior College, leading the team in scoring at 15.7 points per game while also grabbing 6.6 rebounds. He finished the season with 10 games of 20-plus points, including a season-high 33 twice. While at Paris he was named Second Team All-Region. Last season Davis attended Louisville where he did not appear in a game.
Davis joins a reloaded Cajun roster in 2024-25 that includes fellow signees Jeremiah Evans (Forward/Southwood High School), Duncan Powell (Forward/Sacramento State), Kyndall Davis (Forward/Eastern Illinois), Mostpaha El Moutaouakkil (Guard/Indian River State), and Christian Wright (Guard/Oregon State)

Wow didn't think we would get him too. This is shaping up to be an interesting season, least from all the newcomers being added.

Burnt Roux: Koron Davis
When Koron Davis made his decision to transfer to the UL Ragin’ Cajuns, it wasn’t a choice he made lightly.
When he left Los Angeles Southwest Community College for Louisville a year ago, it was more of a spur-of-the-moment decision — one he soon regretted.
“I felt like don’t rush the process as fast as I did out of junior college,” the 6-foot-6 Davis said of transferring to UL. “I kind of went with one of my first options in junior college because it's close to home. Now, I went through most of my options and saw what was the best fit for me.”

No. No hope allowed!
Really, though. It'll be interesting. A lot of new faces.

Any idea when ticket renewals are due? I’m on the fence but will most likely renew

Hope it works out for him here in Cajun country.

There is no deadline! There are more than enough seats available! You can probably get a season ticket up until a day before the first game.

No thanks. Different team. Same coach. Some of yall have battered woman syndrome. He's been here 15 years. We got what we got. It's wild to me how some of yall think all of a sudden, after 15 years, Marlin is gonna turn it all around. But hey, if yall wanna throw on some Journey and "don't stop believing" then by all means, knock yourselves out.

Season ticket renewal has a deadline….
Don’t think someone can get someone else’s season tickets right now up until opening game…

OK, so there is a deadline for the 500 current season ticket holders to renew. But I bet anyone else can purchase season tickets up until halftime of the first game and sit almost anywhere they want to. Absolutely no need to rush.

Re: Louisville transfer explains why he picked Louisiana
You can actually buy season tickets now. You just can’t buy those of someone who had tickets last season. The late Don Brown purchased some fairly good tickets last summer.

That was my point…

Correct. That’s why I was asking. I have had good seats and if I am renewing I’d want to keep those vs getting others

I can't wait to see this guy play.

Re: No Game Day Tweet from DaBoot?
Someone told me that a UL basketball player had been suspended. Is this true?

Yeah. Koron Davis. He is a moron. Should've never recruited the kid.

I would assume Koren Davis. He has not been seen in quite a while.
