Bo Lamar #10 Jersey / Butler #10
Did I miss something? Butler wears #10, but it’s retired?
Re: Bo Lamar #10 Jersey / Butler #10
With 5 players on the court at any given moment they were bound to run out of numbers.
Re: Bo Lamar #10 Jersey / Butler #10
Thanks for recognizing this. Can’t understand why we sullied our history.
Re: Bo Lamar #10 Jersey / Butler #10
You can retire a jersey without retiring a number

I alluded to this in my first post. The difference is, in football they were running out of numbers.
They also did an acknowledgment of sorts towards Brian Mitchell.
Basketball does not have the number shortage football has, and I havent seen the overtures towards Dwight Bo Lamar.

…..I think Levi actually called Mitchell and asked if he could use that Number…..said he would make him proud…..He did!

I agree
Re: Bo Lamar #10 Jersey / Butler #10
Theo Akwuba also wore #10.
Re: Bo Lamar #10 Jersey / Butler #10
Basketball numbers being retired, especially at highly successful programs, don’t make sense when only 37 combinations exist.

This is horrible, this could be the last straw, the straw that snapped the fishing line
Not only up to 55, no digit above 5 on a college jersey.

Right...i was trying to be succint in post...
Sorry..
However, that rule has now changed or been removed from rule book
Re: Bo Lamar #10 Jersey / Butler #10
It was because when a ref reported foul to the scorers table they only had two hands and would show one digit with each hand.... but they dont report fouls that way anymore, they dont need to do so from as far away because every crew has additional ref now
Re: Bo Lamar #10 Jersey / Butler #10
Regardless Winkler, Lamar, and A Tony numbers should never be used without their permission. After they have passed on using their numbers should be temporary, and a worthy player. I’m not saying Butler is a poor player, but he’s not in their zip codes.

If I recall there was a similar response.
Re: Bo Lamar #10 Jersey / Butler #10
I agree, i would not have allowed use of the #... but in this NIL age, we may get to the point where some situations could lead to this, maybe offering a number when we cant match the $

"The following numbers are legal: 0-99. Team rosters can include 0 or 00, but not both."
