Greek Students In Lieu Of Boycots
To all the Greek organizations that are on cease and desists, you all should pack your ice chest on Saturday and since you can’t go to the student tailgate, go to the west side and plop y’all’s ice chest right in front of the band stand. Make your own party. That side is open to the public. If MH / UPs try and shut y’all down where all can see they will have big time egg on their face.
Full disclosure this was the idea of my brother.
PS I started a new thread in hopes that students will see it so I didn’t want to bury it in an existing thread.

Re: Greek Students In Lieu Of Boycots
No one was able to explain a “cease and desist.” Apparently this is not a thing according to the former Greeks I know.
Also, what were the allegations against these chapters?
Not defending the university or the Greeks that whatever is going on is impacting. Just looking for facts.

It was all different reasons in 5 different fraternities. C&D is a new term they use. It basically means they can’t do anything official as a chapter, ie can’t go to their house, can’t set up as a group at the student TG, can’t have socials with sororities….

The one under the oak tree that’s been there for 40 years.

Thought he meant inside the stadium. That would be pretty cool if they did that.

Re: Greek Students In Lieu Of Boycots
KK Jr knows where my tailgate spot is located. They’re more than welcome to use it as their own. I won’t be getting there until around noon so it will be open.

Baw please…they should walk into the stadium, place poster board telling the admin to F Themselves and walk out.
Want to know why we have a near zero fan base, that’s why. The ____ing administration for 50 years have done everything to kill the base. They bend the knee to political pressure and have been neutered.
We used to have university admin who stuck it to the man. Desegregation, name battle and so forth. Now we have had some punk ass _____es for 50 years.
It’s a damn microcosm of the US in general.

Re: Greek Students In Lieu Of Boycots
If 5 fraternities can't tailgate tomm, there will be less than 100 students over there (ftbl practice field)

Needing to be told where to have it might be a point against the new generation. If we had been told not to do something way back when we might not have even known we weren't supposed to

Only a brand spanking new RV parking, football only, last minute in, RCAF member has a shot at not knowing where the Concert Oak is located.
I don't think there are to many of those.

Wow, are all those characteristics possible at once?

Re: Greek Students In Lieu Of Boycots
I wouldn't be surprised if the environmentalists call into question the stadium plans because of that potentially historic oak

We used to hate them on the football field. But in January and February when Little Glenn and Big Kim would call and say they had the key to the old gym, we would always show up for a friendly pick up basketball game.

We could do everything they did way back when and not get in trouble for it. For instance one is in trouble because a bunch of people showed up at the house after a game and they had to many people and didn’t register it with the deans and hire security. We used to gather before and after every FB and BB game.

I don't understand why anyone would be a Greek these days the way they are harassed.

Re: Greek Students In Lieu Of Boycots
The optics have been bad. I get it. But I’m still curious. What did these organizations do to get penalized?
It’s important information.
The university and the way they manage Greeks has been documented. But, in this case, what did they do? Each one?
If a penalty is warranted, then there you go. If it’s garbage, then let’s talk about it.
These 2 threads have just said Greeks are oppressed again. But for what?

UL seems to be falling in line with an increasing number who are hostile to the Greeks who they see in a generally negative light.
