2023 UL Hall of Fame

.....will be announced tomorrow. And, as cynical as we are sometimes, I think you all will be pretty excited about this eight person class.

I'm thinking just after lunchtime, it will hit publicly.

Original bylaws said no more than 1 per year.

While I think that was low, I have a hard time grasping one program putting out 8 Hall of Famers yearly.

When they opened it up to coaches, administrators, and those who left school early to pursue professional sports, the number of inductees went up proportionately. Last year we inducted six. This year it’s eight. But the total is still under 200.

I don’t disagree with this.

It is unfortunate how many names on this list have no pictures and/or bio. Certainly there was some sort of nomination process that would at least allow for the creation of a bio and a picture could be taken when they are inducted.

I nominate Ron Gomez, Bruce Brown, Dan McDonald, AND Jay Walker.
