People do tailgate free at the Cajun dome....limited shade, but it's free as is the parking...
It is not hard to find a tailgate spot at Cajun Field, I have tons of them, I just make sure that I have multiple friends that have tailgate spots.Quote:

Used to tailgate under the Eauque, but when that ended we moved to an unpaid spot. There are great spots all around. Tried the Cajundome, but it wasn't for us. The wife and I found a good spot and we've used it for a couple of years. We open the trunk, throw out the lawn chairs, listen to the pregame, break out the snacks, and shake up the martinis. It's awesome. We're a short walk from the gate. Diggin' it. If they ever make us move, we can probably find something just as good. No, we're not in the parking lot. But it's pretty damn good.

One can earn the right to get a parking pass for a donation of 100 dollars. One could split that into 4 quarterly payments of 25 dollars. If one doesn’t see that as affordable one should be ok with a short walk across the street. If one doesn’t go to a game because of parking at Cajun field one is really not a fan.
