What new sport would you like to see
Mine would be Beach VB first, men's soccer second and women's golf third.

Re: What new sport would you like to see
All 3. But someone will have to pony up the big $$$.

Re: What new sport would you like to see
I think men’s soccer is the one that sticks out the most. Soccer interest is rising in the country. I think enough people in the area might actually be interested in some UL soccer.

Re: What new sport would you like to see
Lol aint no way beach volleyball is gonna lose this one....

Re: What new sport would you like to see
Men’s Soccer! Wish there was a way we can use Cajun Field for Minor League Soccer team. Also I think there is a woman’s football team we need to do that as well.

Re: What new sport would you like to see
Lots of jumbled thoughts on this
Mens Soccer has the most long term potential for front porch sharing.
Cajun Field is to small, NOW would be the time to widen the deck as part of the stadium rebuild.. Would require removing the first row, all the way around.
Front row football fans would be a little farther from the field. Wouldn't affect anyone else.
W Golf would be the cheapest and most expensive sport to start. Venue ready, no revenue.
Beach VB could generate, money with minimal cost of facility prep.

Women's golf makes the most sense economically. Also, I think Louisiana is the only SBC school that doesn't have a women's golf team.

Re: What new sport would you like to see
"The big" girls already pushed the ULMs of the world out of beach volleyball. Not sure how we could move up if we started it now. ULM were perennial leaders in that sport and with a snap of fingers and burning of their equipment she'd they are basically never heard from again and the p5 took over. Would be good to have to house extra players that could count as schol. For beach yet walk-on for inside gym VB. But doubt it moves the needle much even for in gym success

Only if Paige Spiranac coached...

Re: What new sport would you like to see
Would rather see the little money we do have, to go to the existing sports that already exist, now.

That is too practical . . . And you know you want to vote for beach volleyball . . .

Re: What new sport would you like to see
Women's rowing used to have the most available scholarship allotment.

NCAA is considering a rule change that would require all D1 participants to sponsor a minimum of 16 sports. So it will likely be a need rather than a want.

I believe indoor track and field are unique sports and moves us to 16.

I just got nausea thinking of Authement turning down a $10,000 purchase of a $500 G indoor track from the Superdome

Re: What new sport would you like to see
It has to be Men's Soccer. Soccer is huge in Louisiana for our youth now. I think it would draw a crowd. They could have some games at Cajun Field as well.

Re: What new sport would you like to see
WGOLF least impact on budget.

Short of a direct sponsor, least income as well... but not any worse than men's golf.

Re: What new sport would you like to see
This should be a no-brainer. The answer is Men's Soccer. No other sport has the upside as this one. EVERYTHING points to soccer. Population trends. Attendance trends. Youth Camp trends.
Also, the SBC offers an immediate home in one of the BEST soccer leagues in the country.
Just like we were way ahead of the curve when we started Softball, we would be doing the same here.
Men's soccer should be of the highest priority for Martin Hall.

Plus with next World Cup in the USA, it will only get bigger!

Re: What new sport would you like to see
Right after they add beach volley ball I vote for pocket pool.

Re: What new sport would you like to see
As much as I like soccer, if UL had a MSOC team, it needs a benefactor like softball had. Otherwise, it will be like WSOC…we have a team and beyond that nobody cares.
