I might try and pick up tickets, should be plenty of good seats
Still some good ones but there ain't a ton left. Supposedly it's a pretty popular game when State plays there.
I assume we are in the 3rd base dugout as that's the "Visitors" side
In other games, I am currently watching Elon beating NC State 10-0; Elon is still batting with no one out in the top of the 2nd. No. 23 NC State.
Fun game to watch.
Mississippi State Bulldogs
12-5 overall | 9-3 Home | 3-2 Neutral | 0-0 Away | 66 RPI | 60 SOS
The Bulldogs are kind of a weird team:
They have losses to VMI, ULM and an average Ohio State team.
They have a series win over Arizona State, where they took 3 of 4 at Duty Noble.
They are currently on a 6 game winning streak, with wins over Cal, Nicholls, Valpo and a sweep of Lipscomb. 5 of those wins have come at home.
MSU has not played a single true road game. This will be their 6th neutral site game after they participated in the Frisco College Baseball Classic.
Dogs will start 2021 NJCAA 1st Team All-American transfer Colby Holcombe tonight vs the Cajuns. Sophomore RHP 6'6" 250 lbs.
2023 Season Stats:
W/L 0-0 | APP 6 | IP 6.0 | ERA 6.00 | H 3 | ER 4 | K 10 | BB 8 | OPP BA .130
Not sure who the Cajuns will start tonight, but if I had to guess I'd guess Ben Tate or Tommy Ray. We'll see.
I'm pretty sure he said Sam Hill will start with Tommy Ray second up
Interesting, I know that Hill's numbers in JUCO were pretty good, but he has thrown a total of 15 pitches for us including 1 walk and 1 double with an ERA of 99.99, because he has gotten not one single batter out vs Rice and has not thrown a pitch for us since that game.
The good news is that he started 20 games out of 23 at PRCC and was 8-3 with a 3.74 ERA with almost 11 K's per 9 innings in two seasons at PRCC. With that being said, Mississippi State is a little better than Itawamba, BRCC, Jones College, Hinds, Shelton State and the like.
Hill had good career numbers as a a starter in JUCO. And has had just one outing so far this year. He hit a batter on a 2-2 pitch, gave up a hit and walked a guy on a 3-2 pitch. Then was pulled. I forget who it was, but the next reliever came in and gave up multiple hits that scored all of Hill’s runners.
Hopefully he can eat a few innings tonight. It’s hard to put a lot of stock in a guys first D1 outing. That said, he’ll have to overcome some nerves tonight. Getting a couple outs may help settle him in.
went to the ticket office this morning and snagged a seat A next to our dugout, there are some individual seats spread around and they opened the berm so this on is going to b close to a sell out
its going to be a fun game, pretty much a sell out and they opened up selling berm tickets today. I was able to pick up a single ticket on row A in the bunker club right next to our dugout this morning when I went to the ticket office at the field, but most of what is left is general admission stuff.
How could the ump over turn that at 2nd? No angle showing he came off the base. None.

Deggs gunna Deggs
Landry Wilkerson gets a start before Connor Higgs. I don’t get it.
The umps obviously had some camera angels we did not on the Roc call out at 2nd after the long review.
I just don’t understand Marusak hitting leadoff.
First Blood
Like clock work. Offense finds a way to eke out a run and we come out in the bottom half and give up a walk and error on double play ball. Giving teams runs and chances has been the MO for 3 years.
