And 2 new guys in the starting 5.
Fulks is quick
Is Isaiah hurt or still ineligible?
Just realized kobe Julien is still classified as a sophomore in his 5th dang year haha
Jordan Brown is a beast.
Greg Williams much improved.
Dalcourt can shoot a nice 3 consistently
Centenary is bad
$ 12 for a regular Michelob is silly
It's one game, but they beat a team they are supposed to beat, the way they are supposed to beat them. Nice job.
Tough to take anything of value out of a game like that. One thing I liked: We played with good energy and our guys were vocal in rooting each other on. Crowd was better than I was expecting and a decent bit of students.
My only complaint is that they should let Brown score as much as possible. We need a BIB bell cow creating some local, regional, and national noise.
We played 10 players. We played without 4 guys.
Kobe Julien is hurt until probably conference play
Isaiah Richards. Not sure what is up there
Kyran Ratliff. I think he is injured from the trip.
Isaiah Crawford. Walk on from Shaw. Probably won’t see much action this year.
What I did not know is that Brayan Au is no longer with the team. I assume the injuries were just too much for him.
There's this weird thing happening...maybe its because football is in the crapper...but I feel this weird excitement about basketball. Haven't felt that in quite a while. Maybe since we used to have those wars with Western Kentucky in the mid 2000's.
Give it a couple weeks, i'm sure the condition will wear off.
I like our line up. Nice quickness overall. Played good defense until the last 10 minutes or so. Shared the ball and a lot of hustle.
The UL Men's Basketball team was voted as the preseason favorite to win the Sun Belt. Those types of expectations come with pressure; however, the Cajuns didn't falter once in game one. The Cajuns dominated Centenary to start the season 106-55. Continue reading…
Agree. Centenary fans sat next to us. They “love” their coach, and actually thought they should of competed and possibly won if not for him. Don’t have a clue what game they watched, late 3s at mop up time prevented a double up final score.
We seemed confident, which we should of. Little bird told me the scrimmage with State finished tied.
You are correct about AU. Trajan Wesley, Ty Harper, and Theo Awkuba also are no longer here as they transferred out. Only Awkuba was being counted on for a major role this year. He was replaced by Grad Transfer Terrance Lewis at PF. He had a very nice game tonight.
I am not the little birdie that passed on that scrimmage news to ZoomZoom. I was told something a little different as far as how it went but word I got was the performance was better than scrimmage No. 1. Hard to keep news of these things quiet even though that is the guidance from the NCAA.
I looked at Prairie View Box score from their game tonight and it does not appear Trajan played. Wonder if he is still there. He did graduate from UL before moving on. Theo Awkuba did not score but had nine rebounds and 2 blocks in the Ole Miss win over Alcorn State. Theo also earned his degree here before going to Ole Miss.
I don’t believe I care if they move on because they graduated!
The only reason they should transfer is we don’t offer postgraduate options for particular individual. And once they leave as grad or portal I don’t want know how they’re doing.
Only one thing matters if we want to win the Conference Tourney.
Can we shoot the rock?
12 of 27 from 3 last night which is over 40 percent. A few of the misses looked like they were going down before spinning out. 6 different guys hit a three. Now, granted this was against weak competition, most were wide open due to good passing, and there was little pressure like you would see in a tight game. Still, it indicates 3 point shooting might be OK.
