Marusak, Veillon & Bonds
I just got word that none of them traveled last night. What’s up with that? Anyone know why?
-
Re: Marusak, Veillon & Bonds
Hopefully it was just to give them a night off and was planned ahead of time….
-
Re: Marusak, Veillon & Bonds
For stuff like this, we’d probably be better off not writing kids’ names in the posts. If some of this stuff isn’t true, it’s a smear that won’t easily wash off.

I am definitely not smearing or speculating just curious as to why they did not travel? Heck there may have been others these were the only ones brought to my attention.

Not saying you are intentionally smearing or anything like that.
I’m just hesitant to use names when the rumors are negative in nature.

If the rumors are true, is this something that could mean the players will not play anymore this season?
Or would it possibly just be a suspension that will be served and they will be back?

I am sure it is TBD.

Of course, those of us who aren't in the know were left to read a bunch of posts that were written in some sort of secret code, like a bunch of high school girls would do. Can we please stop with the BS "I know something you don't know" people throwing out stuff on this board without coming straight to the point, naming names would be a good start. The JMV thread last evening and the posts about someone from Many HS (I think) taking a visit to UL (football). Just say the names cause I flunked mind reading class in the 9th grade....Geezus...
How about not posting anything at all until facts are known, especially if one is concerned about soiling someone’s reputation?

Fantastic idea. But people feel today feel they are entitled to every bit of information that is out there. And that should not be the case. Just like what happens in a locker room should stay in a locker room. Todays world is a bunch of keyboard warriors.

I think it’s perfectly fine to discuss rumors. The bottom line is Lafayette has always been a small group of people with a lot to say.
Where I’d tread lighter would be using names without facts.
-
Re: Marusak, Veillon & Bonds
Seems silly to not use names then have people insinuate who is involved and what it could be about for endless pages. This keeps getting described as fact not rumor, but it’s been turned in to a guessing game by people hinting what happened but not saying it.

Re: Marusak, Veillon & Bonds
some of you guys tickle the ____ out of me,, what happened is public domain info,, and like it or not when players sign up to play for a school with any kind of popularity,, the good and bad is all open to viewing. Hate when young men make poor decisions,, but drinking and driving-- is a legal offense,, breaking curfew or team rules is as public as the team allows it to be. Deggs has already kicked a player off the team in the fall for DUI,, not to do it now makes him the worlds biggest hypocrite. You don't saying when someone messes up on the field,, well when getting behind the wheel impaired -- don't have to say it. The "player to be named" who got a DUI should be removed and have to be gone a year before returning- which was Robes rule also. Others- should be punished accordingly-- sit out game(s)? Run? Deggs will decide and the rest of us can guess based on who is in the dugout or not... but stop the holier than thou crap.please

Kids are being lumped together for this offense and it’s not fair to them. But it’s not your kid so who cares, right?

That was my whole point earlier with all the keyboard warriors. What if it was your kid? Probably wouldnt care for it a whole bunch

Re: Marusak, Veillon & Bonds
I got a DUI when i was 38. I wasn’t a dumb kid. I didn’t get suspended or fired. I’m in sales. I told my company they understood and worked with me.
-
Re: Marusak, Veillon & Bonds
I just wish someone would have said from the beginning that (so and so) and (so and so) have been suspended (or removed from the team) because they broke team rules.
That way, everyone here would know how it affects the team, which is what most care about, and there wouldn’t be any reason to say anything further regarding what rule they broke.
Now with all of the secrecy and guessing and “I know but I cant or wont say” stuff, it seems like more people have interest in what they did rather than how the team is affected.

Heck he kicked a kid off the team last week for getting sideways with him after he pulled him for continuing to swing at first pitches. That is why Lada stayed at 2nd all weekend. I would think DUI is a bigger offense. I absolutely hate it for the kid, everyone makes mistakes, but you also have to pay the price and learn from your mistake. Lets just thank the Lord that know one was hurt.

You know more than me. I never heard about that guy getting kicked off last week.

Deggs isn't Robe and you can't expect him to be. Deggs said when he was hired he'd handle discipline on a case by case basis.
The kid in the fall was pretty much already out the door because of other stuff. The last thing was just the last straw.

Excellent summary. I'm guessing that 98% of people on here feel that way.

Pull up the roster and look for Clark and tell me if you see him. From what I heard it sounded like he confused Deggs with a daddy ball coach.

I don't know the guy and never heard of him before his name was mentioned to me.

Jack Clark. He got a start against Troy at 2nd and probably would have gotten in last weekend with Warner out. He has been completely erased from the web site.

Are you saying that because he’s know longer here so he’s dead to you? Kinda like when Leger wouldn’t say Montrell Johnson’s name on the radio the other day? I see what you’re doing there.
