Winter Weather Forces Time Changes For Round Rock Classic
https://ragincajuns.com/common/contr...ound_rock.jpeg
Anticipated winter weather in Central Texas this weekend has forced the Karbach Round Rock Classic to make changes to start times for the four-team, weekend event at Dell Diamond.
Louisiana, which joins top-5 ranked programs Stanford and Arkansas along with Big 10 member Indiana in the field, will now open the tournament at noon Friday against No. 4 Stanford. The Ragin' Cajuns will face Indiana on Saturday at 11 a.m. before wrapping up the tournament on Sunday against No. 2 Arkansas at 4 p.m.
All six games in the Round Rock Classic will be available at FloBaseball.com with all Ragin' Cajuns fans also being aired on KPEL 96.5-FM.

Re: Winter Weather Forces Time Changes For Round Rock Classic
We are at 79 degrees in the Austin Metro area this Tuesday afternoon around 4:30pm. While moving games up will certainly help the teams playing the evening games, the Cajuns' games at Noon (Friday) and 11am (Saturday) show temperatures of 41 and 43 respectively. Rain is possible both days.
The weather improves on Sunday with temps in the 50's and 60's throughout (no rain expected).

Re: Winter Weather Forces Time Changes For Round Rock Classic
I'm up in Arlington at the moment and everything out of DFW is cancelled. Was supposed to make it back to Lafayette tomorrow, but no flights available until Saturday. I'm driving instead after the weather improves on Friday.
Went to the TCU baseball game last night and it was coooooold. Temp was 39 at first pitch with a wind chill at about 30. Not really baseball weather.

We are driving over tomorrow, and I am hoping for the sun to come out for the games!

Wow, I was scheduled to fly out to Dallas Friday evening and drive down to Round Rock Saturday morning. Unfortunately I had to cancel my flights because my mother-in-law passed away yesterday. So, at this point it looks like my flight would have been canceled anyway Friday night.

28 right now in Waco. Stopped on our way to Round Rock. Had slight drizzle which was icing on the sides of the windsheild when we got close to Waco.

Fortunately it has recently been warm in the area, so the roads have some captured heat and it will be above freezing later tomorrow morning. But I heard there were at least ten cars trapped on the Hwy. 71/I-35 overpass in SE Austin this evening.
I was cooling my home late yesterday afternoon. We experienced the largest temperature drop on record in a 24 hour period ... 56 degrees (88 to 32) ... Tuesday 3pm -> Wednesday 3pm.

Re: Winter Weather Forces Time Changes For Round Rock Classic
The last time I went to a tournament in cold weather was in Minute Maid Park and we lost a couple of pitchers to injuries during that tournament. This included our highly touted ace; his name escapes me now. He was supposed to be a Friday night starter. Supposedly the weather was a big factor in those injuries. We cannot afford to lose early pitchers.

Just looked at weather for RR. Ice from @3 AM to mid day tomorrow. Good chance of rain Saturday. And cold. Be safe.

Thanks Boomer! Lost my brother-in-law last week and his mother this week. It's been tough on the family, bit it seems like many people are going through the same life changes.

I lost an uncle two weeks ago and my older brother last Friday. Death is part of life....but it still sucks.

Re: Winter Weather Forces Time Changes For Round Rock Classic
Through it all, death still does not seem normal.
My condolences.

Forrest...... I wish it wasn't
As a great baseball coach once said, "there are two dates on a head stone. Between those two dates is a life". It's up to you to make the time between those two dates mean something.

Condolences Jay. Yes death is tough, especially when you didn't have a chance to say goodbye.

Re: Winter Weather Forces Time Changes For Round Rock Classic
Condolences to you Jay. It is unfortunate, however a bunch of us here are all getting to the age where this is inevitable . . .

Man, that’s one of my mantras. If you have the chance, tell whoever in your life what you need to ASAP. Parents, kids, whoever.
Was blessed at age 39 to thank my parents for raising me and the things they did for me growing up…all those things folks wish they could of said but didn’t get a chance. 8 years later, dad passed. Didn’t have the burden of “I wish I had told him” to carry. It’s nice knowing as mom still remembers our talk and neither of us has that burden to carry at the end.
God bless.
