Tie breakers and App-CCU game
So just thinking ahead: suppose app beats CCU Wednesday, and then they both win out the rest of the way. CCU would still be the east champs, right? Because they would still be presumably higher ranked?
And then if we win out the rest of the way, even though we’d win the west, we’d still have to go to CCU for the CCG, correct, since they’d out rank us? Just trying to think what the scenarios would be.

I believe that is correct, but head to head is first.

No head to head is first, we would host APP in CCG

Re: Tie breakers and App-CCU game
App would be East champ because they won head to head and the conference championship would be played here against App.
-
Re: Tie breakers and App-CCU game
It’s conference record then head to head. Then ranking. In that scenario,
Cajuns would host because we’re undefeated
App would win east because of head to head win over coastal. Rankings would not be a factor. Only way rankings matter this year is if us and cc win out.

Re: Tie breakers and App-CCU game
Cajuns biggest game of the year left is Wednesday and we aren’t even playing in it!
App state winning would be MASSIVE for UL and their goal of hosting the sun belt title game here on dec 4.
Cajun Field would be ROCKING for that.

I mentioned your first point here last week and it stands today.

Re: Tie breakers and App-CCU game
Much rather Coastal, either here or in SC. Payback will be a b'i'tch...

A Championship Game at The Swamp would be a program solidifier in the minds of the locals.

Re: Tie breakers and App-CCU game
So If App wins Wednesday that would let us host even with a conference loss.... If App were to win out

With a single loss App would still lose the head-to-head with Louisiana

Correct

Re: Tie breakers and App-CCU game
I’d rather which ever matchup puts us in good ranking. Though Coastal gumbo does sound good
-
Re: Tie breakers and App-CCU game
I actually want App to win on Wednesday. Then have App drop another game to GaSo or someone.
Thus giving us Coastal at home.

Payback can easily come another day. I agree with the others: playing a CCG at CF will help give us cred with those ‘casual’ fans we so desperately need. Go App!

Ooooh....didn't think of that scenario! That's the one we want!

Then, the only thing we'd have to worry about is what day and time ESPN will make us play that game.

How would it be beneficial to have Louisiana play in this scenario. You can make the argument that App beats Coastal so the game is played here, but after that, it seems we want an opponent with as few losses as possible.

No, I want to beat Coastal for the championship....a game that should have been played last year. We already beat App, badly. What does beating them again do for us?

Not if espn moves it to 11:00 apparently

Wouldn’t that be coastal with one loss?
