Ask what is being done to honor Coach Robe. Like a statue to be dedicated opening night

Does that mean someone was asking a tough question about Marlin?

The host is the only one who gets to ask questions in these interviews. That is why they ask for fans to pass on potential questions via social media prior to the interview. Big focus at end of interview was Cajun Field renovation. Like everything else, fund raising is key. Will be looking for those early major "silent" donations soon.
Re: Dr. Maggard 1st 2020 interview
I was only able to listen to 30 minutes of the interview due to work. Can someone post the interview with Dr. Maggard on here?

CajunGrad16 may be able to do that later as he works at the station. Also, the ESPN1420 Facebook page may have it later. Cody may also link it on his Twitter page later.

That, and getting the CF reno done will also be a daunting undertaking, but I truly believe that Maggard will get both done.

This may go beyond the ability of any one administrator no matter how skilled they are. What if there are simply not enough people or companies that exist on the planet willing to donate to the project. We are not talking about 5000 dollar donors here and God knows we don't have enough of those. We are talking about needing people who can donate tens of thousands of dollars. As much as we ask about the progress of this project on this forum, there may not be even one participant here with the resources to make a significant contribution to it. Some have said our economy is better than that in Jonesboro. That is besides the point if they have a couple of sugar daddies and we have ZERO in that category. Not to be too negative here as I believe the project will ultimately be executed. I simply believe it will take longer than any of us would like due to the challenging financial situation we find ourselves in.

We are thinking about sponsorships the wrong way we need to target companies that want advertising space, not just devoted alumni. I think the new guys in RCAF understand that becuse they have experience in obtaining corporate sponsorships. It would not shock me at all if we start to see companies that have no ties to the university but are using UL athletics as an advertising venue.

Lee DeLeon talked about that very thing in his podcast interview. Sponsorships are sold by Learfield. Hopefully they can acquire substantial commitments.

This is where Learfield needs to (and should) earn their money. One of the things they are selling are exposure, nationwide. If XYZ corporation wants to get in front of 1,000,000 folks nationally, Learfield sells them a certain package. They can also tailor to geography, sport, etc.
Now would a number of super rich alumni help ... ABSOLUTELY!! The absence of such makes it more difficult but far from impossible.

This has been part of the plan all along. That wasn't particularly something new.

Well Maggard was on the fence about tearing it down or renovating it

Sure he is, they just renovated some of it for the athletes cafeteria. But it won't happen until the stadium renovations.
Re: Dr. Maggard 1st 2020 interview
I didn't hear him say it exactly, but I guess they settled on one design, of the three, if they are about to go forward into the money raising phase. Sounds like it's going to be nice, new lower level (west) seating, club seating, loge seating, meeting rooms and offices, new scoreboard, a better facade for the east side. Can't wait to see the drawings.
No doubt, it's going to require some type of naming rights or major advertising benefits for one or more major investors. It can't rely on just private donations. They have to sell their vision and goals, being one of the top G5 athletic programs in the country with the football program taking the lead competing for the highest possible bowl that we can (right now it's the NY6). It can be done and I think they will get it done.
Signing Napier on the extension is also for this construction. It shows investors the Cajuns are serious about doing everything they can to keep a good coaching staff.

Yes, I listened to it twice, but could still be wrong. What I heard him say was a new 'west tower' and new west lower bowl. Also, a new 'score' board (to go with our newly renovated 'gym,' I suppose, lol), and tearing down the Cox building, and eventually EKL, etc. He also talked about new loge seats and boxes, which I think he means to include the UD seating on the west side, and is part of what he calls the west side tower. He didn't really say which version was chosen, but that will very by how much money is collected. He also talked about 'tearing down the roof' of something existing, but it was kind of hard to follow that part....I think he was talking about re-doing the east side concessions/restrooms, because doing that he also specifically said that this would not include (at this time) anything being done to the east side seating. Reading between the lines, he also talked up the hill as a good place to bring kids, so I can assume that nothing will done at this time there.
