I wonder if Zach Smith and Urban Meyer will be tailgating there this season?
The old guard Cajun fans THINK they want success... outraged over $10 parking ...this place would be a schit show if prices ever get this high...
Considering the difference in the programs, and historical success level, I'd say we are grossly over paying now. Get us in a P5 confrence and playing in the final 4 I would gladly pay Ohio state type prices.
$3750 for 8 game home slate...for 10 people...I’d say the price gap is fair considering the difference in on-field success as you pointed out...again...we get to half of their on field success our prices reflect that half success...$1800 per season for a 10x10 spot and heads will roll here..
Prices aside, can you imagine the sh!+ storm if they implemented "The" Ohio's catering policy here. Cajun tailgating now proudly brought to you by Sodexo. Haha.
The options shown in the linked page are not the actual prices fans pay to tailgate at Ohio State, but rather upscale options available for folks willing to shell out the extra money.
These are simply options for people with money looking to show up and have the tents, tables, chairs, ice chests, etc. provided for them. These are packages which will most likely be purchased by businesses to entertain clients/employees.
If you want to know how Ohio State fans feel about these overpriced options, just read the comments posted on the page. Here are a couple:
"I will be coming from out of town, and I would not touch this with a 10 foot pole. Even if I HAD the spare cash laying around, TOTAL rip off."
"More elitist _____. Awesome."
So excluding RV parking and upscale/catered options, how much do other universities actually charge?
Ole Miss: Free, all tailgating spots at Ole Miss are first come

Auburn: Free, first-come, first-served.

LSU: Free, first come, first-served.

Texas: $300 per season or $55 per game

Those are the only ones I looked up. If anyone else can find a university who charges as much or more than we charge for basic tailgating, please post it.

Ark state seems to charge about the same as we do
Considering how much our culture enjoys cooking drinking and partying/tailgating I think the price is fine. Supply and demand and not many people demand to cook and drink more than we do...if anyone. Also majority of places I’ve been nobody has spots that can fit a vehicle and a 20x20 tent
Went to the Arkansas State game last year. There is nothing but free areas all around to tailgate till your heart's content. In fact, I've never been to a college stadium anywhere else that charges you a "tailgating spot". It should always be first come, first serve other than RV spots. Now, charge me $20 to pull my vehicle through the gates, and I'm perfectly fine with that.
Seems TAMU does. First one I checked, so guessing there are more.

Florida, you might be able to tailgate, but here is what it takes to park at the stadium.
Do season tickets come with a parking pass?
Season ticket packages do not automatically come with a parking pass. You can receive football parking starting at the Scholarship Partner level ($3,500 contribution per year starting in 2018). Parking pass location is determined based on your Gator Booster Club Level and Loyalty Points. Opportunities to improve your parking in future seasons are available as you earn more Gator Booster Loyalty Points.
Lastly, according to our policies, traditional tailgating can be done in the general parking areas.

At the end of the day, I think OUR definition of tailgating is much different than others around the country. I think what is 'normally' done at Cajun Field is VIP at other places.
My son just graduated from Texas and the friend's tailgate I went to cost their group $7,500 per season for 20x10 AND it was 5 blocks from the stadium. The lot was full and they had a waiting list of over 50 names. This was no RVs, just a 4x4 truck with the grill/smoker attached to it and personal tents.
