Which UL quarterback contender has separated himself?
Even with UL’s Sept. 1 season-opener now less than a week away, the Ragin’ Cajuns appear no closer to having a clear-cut No. 1 quarterback than they did coming out of their first spring practice under first-year head coach Billy Napier.
Neither senior Andre Nunez nor sophomore Levi Lewis made “significant” separation from the other when last Saturday night UL held its first practice of preseason camp.

Less than a week away? By my count it's 2 1/2 weeks. 18 days.

I'd say they meant less than a week in? Never mind, I just read it and its pretty obvious. Gotta love the math.

I'm thinking they meant less than a month, not week.
Re: Which UL quarterback contender has separated himself?
Naps said he hoped to have s #1 by the 15th or do practice?
Re: Which UL quarterback contender has separated himself?
You can believe, Nap has his #1 QB. He is remaining close to the vest about what his pick is. If we nor the press don't know, our opponents don't know also. This team is very close knit.

The advantage of having 2 Qbs with different skill sets you have to scheme for both. Nunez will use the run to set up the passing game & Lewis will use the run to set up the read option.

You think Grambling needs extra time to to prepare for a running QB? In the SWAC? This is much more about our team than “tricking” Grambling
They don't have the personnel or the talent to prepare for both meaning they will run a base 4-2 and just hope their Lb's can make plays.

I'm aware of that, however, it's also a disadvantage to our opponents to not know what style of offense we will be running.

You have to take any advantage you can . The offense is set, and the starting QB has been selected Napier is just screwing with people.

I predict this thread will out-live me.

If he’s truly undecided we’re in great shape, or in an awful quandary.

We are a year removed from a last-second victory over less than stellar SLU with the roster issues we will need every break we can get this year.

I agree you take any advantage you can i just think the “element of surprise” is over blown outside of a specific trick play.
You hire a new coaching staff on which to build your foundation on the previous staff's was about to crumble. As far as the 37 majority were PWO's and won't see much action we still have the lowest number of scholarship players since Bustle 1st year. Napier will right the ship, but we will struggle year 1 that's to be expected.
