Rewind: UL vs. Tulane – From the Bird's Nest
Unfortunately, this will be a tough one to put behind us.

You were far too kind on that after the blocked punt business.....and you know me and another guy like me....I'm calling shots before it happens.....not only 3 runs but the same play....off Lft. Tackle 3 straight times.....from the 4 yard line. It's as if we were playing for the tying field goal....disappointed in the extreme.....

A Jennings keeper would have easily scored...that play was open all night.

...and all of the other plays they decided to hold back until the OT.
Re: Rewind: UL vs. Tulane – From the Bird's Nest
If our line was playing that bad why not go four wide with Eli and Riles inside and Wright or Calais in the backfield and use a quick passing game?
You stretch the defense out, they have to focus on Eli, and you create space for things to happen.

Tulane had a good night. They beat us and beat NMSU 52-6. LOL.

I know right. Virtually every team we play does it to us, yet we can't seem to process that.

No Turbine... that may not have allowed the turnover battle to define the game. And that breaks the rules of football. Once your defense holds another team to 3 field goal attempts following turnovers... you pretty much have to give up and just run your RB into the pile. I'm pretty sure that's what the chart says.

Didn't read...no 1420 for me.

Me either. I'm curious. But not that curious.

We tried to go to more of a short passing game as opposed to the more downfield passing game we employed early in the game. However, we avoided any type of short slants and god forbid, WR bubble screens. Their pressure was just on Jennings before he could really get into any type of read progression and we allowed Nico Marley to look like Lawrence Taylor.
