Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns softball head coach Michael Lotief issued a statement on Monday regarding his present medical situation which caused him to miss last weekend's Sun Belt Conference series at Texas State.

You get to feel close to coaches like Lotief. You read what they say, hear them on radio. In general you form a bond with them, and worry about them.
I can only pray for him, and his family. Sounds very serious no doubt.
Coach Mike Lotief has always been a class act, setting an excellent example for others to follow. The thoughts and prayers of the Rizzuto family in Gueydan are with him always. Get well, Coach!
