I wish he would resign too but I doubt he would risk being unemployed next year w/ no income. I think he has to get fired if we want him to leave.

maybe cut a deal, he can take a little less money for the buyout and we let him resign which looks alot better on the resume. It says to ther schools that things just didnt work out but he is not leaving on bad terms with the administration. We save money and he saves face.

I voted NO, because..... well I don't know why I voted that way. I think I have been making alot of poor decisions as of late. Can I change my vote?

Is there a graceful way of having him resign and thank UL for giving him the opportunity to coach as an assistant and a head coach at the D1 level and have him ask his players to give the next coach everything they have as a person, a student and an athlete to make them and this university achieve success in the next basketball season? (IMO you are always better off leaving in a cloud of class). Yes to a resignation.

My question is concerning whether the university cares about our opinion. Read it again.

I wouldn't resign if I was him. I'd want that buyout.

There is, but I think it involves about $200,000.00 though.

The "option"? We should first demand that he resign in the hopes that he realizes that he has set this program back a while and pull a Bob Knight and own up to it. By resigning, he would forfeit the requirement for us to have to pay him which is more than likely the major roadblock in this decision due to our cutbacks.

Well, the likelihood is not good of him doing the resignation however, I feel that it is something that the university should ask him to do.
