They screwed ASU out of a bowl by turning down the Independence Bowl this week, so we're not speaking to them for a while. Glad to see someone finally knocked them off, and nice to see Browning go out with a win in his final game.


La La turned down the Independence Bowl last week, so any hope with that bowl involves minor miracles involving the PAC 12 choosing to play a CUSA team in Dallas over an ACC team in Shreveport.

They show no respect to UL, refuse to refer to the university as requested and further go out of their way to use references UL specifically asks not to be used but then they expect us to make decisions based not on what is best for UL but what might be best for them. Again, ____ all of them.

And to think, these clowns get a monetary cut from us going to a bowl game. ____ them and ____ this conference

I think I answered that pretty much today talking about the date of the game, the weather possibilities, the money, the fans interest, S-Port/NO, the recruiting, and when charity is over ruled by common sense and the best interests for your university!!! If the conference wanted to extend ANY kind of fig leaf to UL, they'd can the revenue sharing aspect of going to a bowl.

The whole freaking lot of them know that we and stAte do the heavy lifting.

I have a question. If UL turned down an Indy invite last week, weren't they at the game Saturday? Someone help explain to me the reason that they were there if they've already been told "no"? I did see that they were supposed to be at the game. The timeline doesn't fit to me.

IMO, I believe we did not get the I bowl invite in time for whatever reason, so we went with the sure thing, especially after being co champions as of this weekend.

bowl revenue sharing is quite common amoung every conference. we've been over this. doesn't matter that we JUST started doing the heavylifting.

We could not get the Indy invite until after the sec championship. They have to see how everything falls. We could have a "latech type invite" but nothing in writing.

I believe the sharing just started the year right after we started doing the heavy lifting. I dont think we recieved very much if any revenue as a result of the early Sun Belt Bowls

Do these people not understand our history with the indy bowl? Why would anyone not named waters want to negotiate with these north La. scum without a written contract. So this redwolf runs over to Monroe board and wants to buddy up with those clowns because we are his perceived enemy. He is too thick headed to see that Monroe's lackluster Bowl and the Cajuns not being ranked (or close to it) is the real reason his team is not going bowling. A strong UL is good for the perception of the SBC, like Boise was for La. Poly and the Wac. I guess being associate with mediocre and bottom feeding teams are what this clown wants. Go ahead, moan and cry all you want. Won't change the fact that UL never received a legitimate offer and wasn't going to Poly this one.

*edit Whoops, didn't see that ASU accepted the G. Daddy. glad to see they didn't Poly this one. Hope Indy folds soon.

Yes, notice AState didnt wait arond to see if Indy would come calling. And GoDaddy is the one bowl that could afford to wait since they are the last one to be played unlike NO Bowl which is first.

I would say stAte has been wanting NOLA Bowl for two seasons now.

When they first went to Mobile that bowl was more prestigious than the New Orleans bowl (perception wise)

Two years of Ragin' Cajuns fans (and Louisiana's brand of football) have elevated the status of the New Orleans bowl.

that is correct, but if you take a look at other major conferences, that's what I was talking about. Yes the Belt just started, but we're always late to the party. lol
