Just curious but who do you all think is the best team in the nation? I know the Polls say LSU is #1 across the board but I have seen both Oregon and LSU play alot this season and to be honest I think Oregon has the edge. I think Oregons spread offense with D. Dixon and J. Stewart is top notch. The only draw back is that Oregon's big games have all been at Autzen which is a tough place to play, so I would like to see what they could do in a big game away from home. I just think LSU is making way too many mistakes in big games to be the best team especially this late in the season. With the personal foul penalties and the turnovers, those tend to catch up to teams, I think Oregon vs. LSU would be a great NC. But on the other hand you have the Big 3 of the Big 12 who may jump Oregon after the big 12 championship. I can't wait to see what happens with the rest of the season cause it has been a good one!
Sorry, but Kansas right now is looking unstoppable. With that said, I think Kansas vs LSU would be one HELL of a National Championship with LSU's Defense vs Kansas's offense. Right now I give the edge to Kansas (just my opinion), but things can change quickly as we've seen this football season.Quote:

The Daily rag last week finally ran an article of journalistic integrity last week... although it was an AP article... no one local would stand up to this fact.. putting a fork in the argument that the SEC is so far and away the best conference... The SEC avoids BCS teams in non-conference games like the plague... Look at A&M@BR's non-conference... Va Tech, Middle Tennesse, Tulane and Tech.... Wow now thats a leap.. Of course they will have a ton of bowl elidgeable teams with that non-conference schedule... Then I look at this morning's BCS Standings....
SEC #1, 9,12 for the top 3
Big Twelve #3,4,5
Pac 10 #2,8,11
The SEC fans just need to shut up.........
Finally, A&M@BR is good.. very good... But the teams they have struggled against, Florida, Auburn and Alabama all have at least 3 losses.... Again this air of superiority is misplaced me thinks

They have beaten one team that is currently ranked (Illinois), and that was before they turned the proverbial corner.
The best teams are LSU and Oregon (any attempt to say who is better is pointless).
If OU wins out, however, they will jump Oregon. Missouri and Kansas play in two weeks. That will be a matchup of two top five teams. If Kansas wins, they will likely jump Oregon and maybe LSU on account of the fact that they will be undefeated. Then the winner will play OU and OU will trounce them, and OU will move into the top 2 because they have just beaten a top 3 team. LSU is in a better position than Oregon because they play in the SECCG and they will play either Tennessee or Georgia.
The fact that the Pac-10 doesn't have a CG will be their downfall (just like in 2003).
just about any team in the top 15 would look unstoppable if they played kansas' pitiful schedule. lsu/kansas in big game would probably have kansas getting 10 points from vegas. as an lsu fan, i am PRAYING that kansas runs the table and gets in the game [and of course am praying we run the table as well]. lsu/oregon is a toss up; the other game would look like a mismatch, it think.Quote:

Like the old saying goes, you get what you ask for. If KU gets through Missouri and Oklahoma, then I'd really be worried. Not sure if they saw them against OSU saturday night, but they seem to have a QB with an accurate arm, that can move around pretty well. they seem to have some nice size and speed at WR. and, they run the ball like its nobody's business. nice points; but since some team has to get there, it's kansas i've landed on as of now. oregon clearly excellent, and i expect oklahoma would have less of the 'jitters' than kansas--ordinarily when teams get to someplace big for the first time, they might now perform like they would later, with some experience under their belt. see s. fla and b.c. this year. tho' i hope for kansas, i have serious doubts they can beat mizzou and o.u. and lsu ain't beat ole miss, arky, tenn/ga/fla yet, either. it is fun playing around with it, however. spending WAY too much time playing on the 'net when i should be working.Quote:

I don't know that I'd give them the edge in the NC game because they'd be the overwhelmingly better team, but because it would be a home game for them.
