I love the one on the left. Clean and timeless.
I'm a huge fan of the one on the left. Like Geaux said, it's very clean.
Left!
I actually have gotten to like the current one. So Right. We as a university just need to be consistent with the logos and name.
Gotta say the monroes' does look good ---they were due for something good!!!
Lol @ Boomer.
Left logo. It's not even close.
So, ULM changes it's logo and now some of you want to make our logo look similar to their old one? I don't favor the idea. When I saw the LOUISIANA logo on the pool table a few days ago, I immediately thought it looked good.
Y'all are welcome for the one on the left
Didn't know ULM changed theirs. Ours does not look good with all of the colors in it. IMO, it needs to be simplified with the red, white '& black. Football changed uniforms and a new logo needs to go along wih it. This new logo would be a great match and a much cleaner look.
Personally, I don't mind the logo we have now. Our branding being in a constant state of flux is doing us much more harm than good.
Louisiana Ragin Cajuns
The logo on the left is almost there. If I had photoshop here's what I'd do.
1. Swap the black and white colors in the fleur de lis (black is not a school color).
2. Get rid of the grey and black piping around the circle.
3. Make the circle a little bit thinner. It's too thick and it looks out of proportion from the fleur de lis.
4. Change the font on Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. After 10 years I'm tired of flames and flares coming off all our logos and yellow flamin' pepper comma ta da tops.
Make it look closer to this:

Left! Clean and no yellow/flames.
The logo has a lot to do with the program/organization. I talked to several people (including those who work within the athletic offices) claim to not like the new sun belt logo and that it was a waste of the conference's money, was told close to $1 million dollars. I 'm not that fond of it myself, but at least they are trying. The SBC has a horrible perception in college football and even though they paid $1 Million, they also paid for a new attitude. The company they hired was also hired a few years ago by Louisville and to be honest, they have had the most success in the last 10-15 years as a whole athletic department (C-USA- Big East- ACC). I think that we need to look into hiring a professional marketing and branding firm. With their help, a new logo and attitude very well might help our name issue.

There's actually one spot I really like the pepper- as the apostrophe on Ragin'. Only there, every time.
I know the flame doesn't represent real world design but what is hot right now is a move away from skeumorphism.
In practice this means logos are flatter, not trying to be to busy buzzy. The logo on the left is cleaner and less skeumorphic.
I like it.
I like the one on the left. It makes a larger statement. Looks good.
