WBB coaching talk ...
anyone have a finalist list... or know who all got interviews
-
Re: WBB coaching talks have gone quiet!!!
Any word on how Broadhead's interview went? Just curious.

Re: WBB coaching talks have gone quiet!!!
If B-head gets the gig can he get the STM/McNeese kids???
-
Re: WBB coaching talks have gone quiet!!!
Yesterday Jay said it was his understanding, that there were 70+ applicants . . . if I heard him right.
Of those I don't know how many fit the hiring criteria, perhaps all?

Re: WBB coaching talks have gone quiet!!!
I have heard that some surprising names are included in that list.
-
Re: WBB coaching talks have gone quiet!!!
I have also heard similar talk. from what i am hearing, they have already done the vetting process and whittled the list down and should be making a decision fairly soon.

Re: WBB coaching talks have gone quiet!!!
I hope the new coach demands free parking for fans at Earl K gym

Marty Fletcher? Just kidding! :) What is important is that the pick is RIGHT for THIS program and THIS budget == meaning any bigger names might not necessarily be a match. Some of those names may have operated in a different region with larger budgets. This will be a unique difference from what they may be accustomed to and it is extremely important that CARR understand that before shooting names our way. Sadly, they cannot ask J. Kelly about that uniqueness.
I still say, and without looking at a list that may contain more prominant names, Doug Brodhead is the best bet to elevate our ladies program to a highly respectable and consistent Sun Belt contender and I fear anyone else would be three or four and out, sending us back to ground zero.
Z clock is running.

That would be Gary Brodhead; and some of the other statements in your post are also wrong. Even if a better coach comes in and goes 4 and out, we will be in much better shape to hire a quality replacement; and as long as we keep our current AD and President, that will happen.

And I was just about to jump on your statement until I read the part at the end about the AD and President... :D

Re: WBB coaching talks have gone quiet!!!
Southland Coaches could be a plus for us.........Brooks Donald-McNeese, Brenda Welch-Nichols-Sam Houston, Gary Broadhead-Mcneese, Dobie-Nicholls, Matt Daniels-UCA any of those coaches could turn this program. Have we talked to them yet? You need someone who has had to battle those issues!

At least three of the names you mentioned were on the early list from what I've learned. After that, I'm not sure what direction the interviews have went. In my book, unless you know who is on the list or which coaches have been interviewed, there is no way anyone can say without question that one coach is better for the program then another. That is simply an opinion with no factual basis.

If we are going to hire this guy (not promoting him) everyone needs to spell his FIRST name right, it is GARRY.

Have 2 questions: Just how many WBB games have you ever attended? And Seat #'s for your season tickets.

Pretty sad to wait in line for like an hour after a night game at Earl K...all cars at the game waiting in line where there is only one booth operator...and then there is a sign that they dont accept cash lmao

About 4 since Rogers took over. I attended perhaps half of Kelley's games, and a few prior to that. I have 4 season tickets to men's BB, which includes unnumbered season tickets for the women.

BB just want to let you know I do not like your lobbying efforts, but have nothing against Brodhead, and would support his hire provided he were found to be the best available. The reason I do not like lobbying is because I think it poisons the water for any other coach who might be hired.
Instead of lobbying about how great he is, why don't you convey what his vision and plan to improve the program would be provided he were hired. Most of these people can recruite, motivate, and know X & O of basketball. Clearly being successful requires a little more. Vison, plan, and other intangibles.

So you think he's trying to lobby US to hire Broadhead?
