I saw a QB (cant remember where) was a no-show for Spring practice. He is waiting on a new contract. I do not think we are coming back from this, fellas.

He wanted to renegotiate his NIL deal, which was the highest ever (at the time) for a HS kid.
Kudos to Tennessee, they removed him from the team.

The college landscape can absolutley be broken by this, but fans and donors have a choice. Vote with your wallet. If you feel like NIL is a problem, stop supporting greed.

Hell, we have legislators in Baton Rouge now trying to pass bills to make NIL income exempt from state income taxes.
____’s out of hand already. I still refuse to give to any collective.

The legislative priorities in Baton Rouge are laughable. I pay taxes on my income, what makes NIL income any different?

Getting wasted and watching you earn your income isn't a status symbol.

Their argument is that we want LSU to be able to compete in the no income tax space that Texas and Florida can for athletes.
Which I guess THEORETICALLY would mean us, Tech, etc also having that leg up potentially on our conference peers who will tax that income, but I don’t care. College athletes, especially football and men’s basketball, are already given more resources and the like than your regular college student working nights at Pizza Village or Rouse’s trying to make money for rent. And yet their earnings would still be subject to state taxation?
That’s complete bullcrap.

We have more choices than ever on how to support our university. NIL is only 1 option where I have contributed, but supporting RCAF and our facilities means the money stays here even when the athlete leaves.
