RISE: UL Master Plan Vision 2030
RISE.pdf
2030 Goals:
$300M in Research Funding
450 Post-Docs & Non-Faculty Researchers
150 Doctoral Graduates
Top 100 Research University
As I have noted, UL believes we will make 100 doctoral graduates by 2028, which will make us SREB1, with a large increase in state funding.
We are in the process of adding several doctoral programs to support us in this. Some of the doctoral programs already have masters degree students on a waiting list.
Re: RISE: UL Master Plan Vision 2030
This is all well and good, and certainly something to crow about...unless this somehow translates into better athletic support from the public and administration, I almost don't care...

This is bold, but I AGREE
Re: RISE: UL Master Plan Vision 2030
Seriously, you walk out of UL with an advanced degree like they're talking about with a big payday job....and then forget to support the school that made it possible...judging from our RCAF numbers, it's happening all the time.
Re: RISE: UL Master Plan Vision 2030
I think our continual rise to the undisputed #2 public university of the state and actually vying for #1 spot will undoubtedly have a positive effect on the academic and athletic perception from the public.
Re: RISE: UL Master Plan Vision 2030
One could say the same about whether RCAF membership is higher among alum that are non athlete regular students or scholarship athletes
Re: RISE: UL Master Plan Vision 2030
How does one become a non faculty researcher?

When it costs six figures to get that degree from a regional school in Louisiana, most graduates are resentful on their way to Texas.

Postdocs are one. Industry is another. Associated government researchers are another. A lot of the researchers at NIRC are not faculty.

What does it cost in Texas?

OK, it's time to come clean.
You really graduated from LSU, didn't you?
