I'm going to ask colleagues at work if they would be interested anytime I get that call for extra tickets. Short notice makes it more difficult, but it's worth a try. Maybe we could get the word out on social media and get a list of folks that would be interested in getting tickets, free or discounted?
This post made me think about putting this together on Google Sites:

Just as a way to possibly list tickets for sale/free or show that you are looking to buy some tickets (and avoid ticketmaster fees). There's been a few times this year where I wanted to give my tickets away for baseball but I'm not on social media and friends/family turned it down. Not sure if it's a good idea or not, but it was fun playing around in Google Sites.

I like this to help fill up the stadiums. I really like the big LOUISIANA font predominantly at the top of the page. We need more of this branding!

Thanks RedTails! Looks great!!!
Re: Ragin Cajun Fan-to-Fan Ticket Exchange
How do you give them away do you select sell and put $0 for price or is there another way.
Re: Ragin Cajun Fan-to-Fan Ticket Exchange
There may be a very logical reason why a system such as is being proposed does not exist at the University level.
The silver lining in this instance is that it may get a couple more fans sitting in seats in the grandstand for softball.
However, reality is that for every fan who attend a Louisiana sporting event by use of a ticket acquired through this system as opposed to from a ticket purchased from the University, it will be lost revenue for Louisiana.
The implementation of this system could all but wipe out any revenue which Louisiana makes from walk up ticket sales.
In this instance, if this is fully thought out, one would realize that the silver lining may end up putting the worst of thunderstorm clouds right over the ticket booth available for walk up traffic at all Louisiana sporting events. Also, when this is fully thought out, this in effect would do virtually nothing for taking out Ticketmaster fees as those are not charged at the Louisiana ticket booth for walkup tickets acquired at the event on game day.

I modified the form to include a "Offering Free" option.

Yea, this weighed on my decision to post this on here or not. My thoughts were that it would likely be predominantly used only on RP and wouldn't cause that much of a material difference to walk-up ticket sales.
Right now I believe the biggest ongoing threat to walk-up ticket sales is ESPN+.
Re: Ragin Cajun Fan-to-Fan Ticket Exchange
In a perfect world, I love your idea. Unfortunately, it runs the risk of opening the door to scammers. I am not a fan of Ticketmaster or their fees, so please don't think I am advocating for Ticketmaster.
I know the webpage states, "only exchange money if you are certain the other party is trustworthy", but how do you know if the person is trustworthy?
The only two online payment platforms that offer protection to buyers are Venmo and PayPal's "goods and services" option, but that option charges the seller a fee, so we are back to paying fees. I think "avoiding fees" was the whole point of this ticket exchange idea.
Exchanging tickets through Ticketmaster offers the peace of mind knowing the transaction is 100% legitimate. The last thing you want is someone coming to you because they had their money stolen by a scammer using your platform/website.
Re: Ragin Cajun Fan-to-Fan Ticket Exchange
Regarding online payment platforms:
There is no fee to use the "friends and family" option on Paypal or Venmo, but neither of those two companies will refund your money if the seller fails to deliver the items/tickets you purchased.
CashApp and Zelle are scammers favorite online payment platform because once the money is sent, there is NOTHING you can do if the seller does not deliver the items you purchased.
NEVER let anyone you don't know talk you into using Zelle, CashApp or the "friends and family" option on Venmo & Paypal.
I run an online buy/sell group that has over 15,000 members and the amount of scammers we have to remove every week is ridiculous.
It is really a sad world we live in these days with the amount of online scams. These scammers sit behind a keyboard all day looking for opportunities to steal your money.

All completely valid points. I think my initial form creation was just for free, but I put in a drop down to sell/buy. I think I'll peel it back and describe it purely as a free ticket exchange for unused tickets. If people wanna offer money or beer on their own, that's lagniappe.
I'll make adjustments later today to make it clear it's for the exchange of free tickets (looking/giving away).
Re: Ragin Cajun Fan-to-Fan Ticket Exchange
I think using it for free tickets is an excellent idea. Thanks for taking the time to put this together.
...and thanks for taking kindly to my comments. They were in no way a knock on you, your idea, or the webpage you created. I was simply letting you know that when money starts changing hands it presents a wide variety of issues.
