If SMU Is Invited to Pac 12 . .
Should we make strong push to join AAC if SMU is indeed invited to join the Pac 12? Certainly it would be expensive at first to join AAC. However looking long term, the scheduling and revenue upside seems much greater than SBC. If there is an opening, UL should take a closer look at pursuing AAC membership.

4 years ago, absolutely. AAC moving forward without cincy or Houston or ucf, there’s no point

I'd rather stay in the sun belt. If I remember correctly once the teams leave correctly, sun belt and aac are pretty equal for revenue

I like the stature of the AAC as well. I really like what uptown Nola did this year, added even more legitimacy to the AAC stock and brand. Check this out - we finished @ AP 16 in Napier's final season at Louisiana. 16. Which Bowl were we invited to? NOLA Bowl. Again. Fast forward to 2022, Tulane finishes @ AP 16. Where did Tulane bowl? The f'n Cotton Bowl v USC, and win.

No stay in the SBC. SBC should get better bowl tie ins soon with being the best G5 conference now that AAC has lost its best schools.

Bowl game are mute after playoff take effect. We have a chance to build good rivalries in the west division. Let's build up Sun belt first and then see

Tulane got in because they were the highest ranked G5 team left even though they had 2 losses. Meanwhile, Cincinnati made it to the CFP and Houston was ranked ahead of us the year we finished 13-1.
Now that Cinci and Houston will be headed to the Big 12, there's really no team going into the AAC that can match their prestige.

Top 6 conference champions get an automatic playoff bid starting in 2024. SBC will be in a prime position in 2024 and going forward to send their conference champion to the college football 12 team playoffs.

Let’s remain factual . . . they earned what they got and got what they earned . . . Likewise we earned what we got and got what we earned . . . circumstances that matter were not the same . . .
