Big West, Mountain West, PAC 12 and West Coast do not play a conference tournament. Regular season champion gets the automatic bid.

Totally agree. You've worked the whole season to win the conference and have earned it.
Re: Softball conference tournaments
Louisiana State A&M makes an early exit in the SEC tournament and pretty much puts an end to their chances of hosting as the were a bubble team going into the week. So the Cajuns will go a bit farther than red stick.

Kind of off subject and not trying to hijack this thread but I was in College Station a few weeks ago for the Bama/A&M series. I was talking to a big A&M booster at one of the games and he told me that Jo Evans was gone at the end of the season and that A&M was going to target Torina and Lawson from Kentucky as her replacement. I found Torina to be a strange target but now that LSU has kind of spiraled in the later part of the season, I wonder if she is still on A&M's target list? Deifel seems to me to be the obvious one to target if you wanted to poach an in-conference coach. A&M has got fantastic facilities and a lot of money so that should make them attractive.
