Only One Bowl Better Than New Orleans From the Bird’s Nest
The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns won their fourth straight R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl last week, beating Nevada 16-3.
But, despite many media outlets explaining the situation, there are still many fans who think going to New Orleans means the Cajuns’ program has become stagnant.
Re: Only One Bowl Better Than New Orleans – From the Bird’s Nest
"Cajun die-hard fans know and understand this. But many Cajun fans simply don’t know how the bowl system works."
Thanks Jay

Sounds like the New Orleans Bowl needs to follow UL to new conference as well.
That could be an additional selling point for us to CUSA. "We own the New Orleans Bowl." Hell it has more credibility than Tech's "we own the Shreveport market". :p

I guess the Cure Bowl tie-in is for the Georgia Sun Belt schools?

Agreed! 40 years from now, no one will care that we didn't win the conference outright. All they will remember is the 4 straight bowl wins!!!! Unless......we make it 5 IN A ROW!!!???
Let's start the theme right now.........ONE FOR THE THUMB!!!!
Re: Only One Bowl Better Than New Orleans – From the Bird’s Nest
and as long as we aren't so comfortable with N O that we refuse to even listen to any offers that "might" come our way, I think we can all agree this is the way to geaux. I believe we all "know how the bowl system works"....LOL!

I know there can't possibly be anyone still _____ing about UL beign selected by the New Orleans bowl still. Can there? Could someone who felt that bowl was beneath UL, or was not the best thing for UL possibly step up & give their reasoning? I just don't believe anyone is this confused about the situation. The only reasons that game didn't have fifty thousand plus again was: the starting time probably lost about five thousand people. Two: Cajuns didn't win the sunbelt conference. That loss to Appy state cost UL at least ten thousand fans at that game.

I don't think anyone thinks that Kyle.

I think the only people saying we should choose another bowl to "broaden our horizons" are those simply trying to poo poo on our accomplishment of winning the NOLA bowl four straight years.
If Miami won the Orange Bowl 4 years in a row, UCLA the Rose, LSU the Sugar, etc then those teams would be considered some of the greatest teams ever. I'm not saying the Cajuns are the greatest ever, simply stating that the perceived home game of playing in NOLA does not diminish our success in the last four seasons.
Only reason I'd like the Cajuns to play in a different bowl would be to make it easier for me to attend, anyway, West Virginia doesn't host a bowl so there goes that!

Hey, the 'tater bowl has served Boise well and will gladly take them back in down years. NOLA it is until we have a truly magical year.
