Local broadcasts under old assumptions
And there's the first "U L Lafayette" from Dan McDonald.
Re: SBC Softball Tournament - Day 1
Getting "U L Lafayette"'d to death by Dan Freaking McDonald in a game we're not even playing in, in our own ballpark, is ridiculous.
Call us U L Lafayette on KLAF, then. Phony. Thankful that Jay's consistent. Hell, at least Lynn Rollins is consistent. Dan.... just sad.

Why do we have this discussion every year? He's instructed to do it that way. Jay doesnt work for the conference.

Yeah because that's way better. I guarantee the conference is still using the naming policy for stuff like this, as seen on most conference broadcasts in other sports
Re: SBC Softball Tournament - Day 1
Dan is a media prostitute our fearless SBC leader already said UL can say what they want.
Re: SBC Softball Tournament - Day 1
THIS is a SBC production and HE works for Benson. Benson said the conference will Lafayette us until Old Sol turns into a vermilion giant.

Because he CAN say "Louisiana" all day long.
Re: SBC Softball Tournament - Day 1
Yes... "Louisiana Lafayette" is way better than "U L Lafayette," if you have to compromise.
I expect crap from Lynn Rollins, or someone else. But Dan knows the scoop, and he proudly exclaims "Louisiana!" on KLAF. What a sellout.

He can also be replaced by another announcer assuming he's going against his employers wishes
