UL on baseball hats - serious question

So we can't use UL without the Lafayette on anything. Someone explain the UL only on the baseball team's caps? Also - where can I buy one? As boredom set in on my two snow days, I took my pocket knife and ripped the "lafayette" embroidery from my two caps I own. When my wife saw me, she asked "what are you doing." I simply replied with, "you wouldn't understand!"

I think that it is sewn on the back of the cap in the same color as the majority of the cap itself.

Prior to the SBC coming out with their desired naming list, from an athletics standpoint, there were no restrictions. Louisiana on jerseys, UL only on hats, etc. Then the release came out and we all know what happened then. It's my understanding the release is no longer in place. So the question is, does the university still have to abide by what was in the release or can the university revert back (prior to the release).

The SBC doesn't decide Louisiana law. My understanding was the restrictions were imposed by Louisiana law - nothing having to do with the SBC. The SBC media guide, was just the SBC adding fuel to the fire that's been burning since we became UL.

Not trying to stir the pot, but pictures of baseball practice on the Vermilion's website showed them wearing hats with our FDL on the front. Hope those were just practice caps.

The university can take the SBC release and wipe their asses with it if they really want to. You have the thing all backwards. The SBC doesn't tell the university what to do as far as branding and apparel. The university tells the conference. Problem is, those who run the university lack the testicular fortitude to tell the SBC how things should go.

Photo on the Vermilion website. Unis are obviously practice unis, but I hope the caps are for practice also.

Thanks bigearl and CajunFan3406. What I should have wrote was will the university go back to their name practice prior to the release or after. Thx.

I don't mind those as an occasional thing, kinda like our camo unis. Just can't switch to this one as our primary hat.

does anyone know if "lafayette" is sewn into our baseball team's hats anywhere?
