2012 Poll: Conference Affiliation

The idea I think would be interesting is what Sunbelt schools would you like to stay affiliated or associated with when all the dust settles with conference changes. I would like to restrict it to schools in the Sunbelt not so much schools in other conferences.

For Instance, I would like to stay affiliated with:

1. Arkansas State
2. Middle Tennessee
3. South Alabama

and that's about it.

Basically I want to lose schools who will hold the conference back, either academically or athletically, so that we can work up to what CUSA or MWC was before they lost their more prestigious members. Then we get the conference to a status that can attract a strong 1-A school that is tired of having its conference crater every few years.

Academics should play a role in conference affiliation, but it usually doesn't. Boise State has the academics of a truck driving school, yet they're Big East bound. Schools like ULM and Troy State will be around as long as the Sunbelt Conference exists. The only way to sever the ties that bind us is to leave the Sunbelt. I believe a new conference could be formed out of the best of the SBC and the eastern WAC schools that would allow us to accomplish this. That is what I wish UL, ASU, MTSU, FAU, USA, WKU, LTU, UTSA, and TX ST would do.

I cannot believe anyone (1 vote) would vote for Moanroe. They bring no value to this league.

I wished I had saved that lovely photograph you posted a few months back; it would have been nice to post it every now and then just to improve the aesthetics of the forum.
