Do you know what they will do with that "use to be parking lot" next to the third base entrance? will they cement it or blacktop it or leave it like it is. Haven't been around the park lately. Would love to go inside and check the press box and suites if possible and take pictures. Don't know if they would let me in.

If you go during the day it is open, and they shouldn't have a problem with you going in.....at least they didn't mind when I did. Don't know if you can get in the suites, etc., unless there are workers in them that let you in....they were bringing in the furniture for the club room when I was there, so couldn't go in. Here's hoping you can get in and take/share pics from it.

Great pics, fantastic facility...thanks for sharing. Question: I wonder why there are 2 PB's, a smaller one and a larger one? Maybe for broadcasts, when they need a lower level of background noise?

Just a thought, but the larger one might be for the incoming press and the small one for local. Also there is more than one small press box. The view for the press box is great although not behind home plate.

While walking around they had several painters doing touch up. They were very meticulous in what they were doing. Clean and straight lines.......and I got to ride in the elevator also. And the field of dreams looks new. What a great park.

Larger press box will be for scoreboard/media/athletics communication staff. Smaller box is for PA/music/game ops. There will be two addition boxes for home/visiting radio.

Had a conversation with someone who said the parking lot will be removed when they remove the Cox and build the plaza.

I would think you'd have two radio booths and one TV booth and a larger area for media.

It would same that the larger area would not be for radio broadcast because they would be talking over each other. It might be for sport writer and their computers and scoring programs as well as score board operators, etc...

Drove by today. They were painting handrails outside the stadium. The third base entrance has some limestone lining the stairs and sidewalk. Hopefully that's temporary.

Has anybody said what would happen to the old clubhouse when a new one is built?

Overall the stadium looks outstanding. Couldn't be happier until I actually see something better.

And they removed the temporary 2x4's in the openings.

They are painting the handrails black. Should have left them galvanized. Paint will eventually start peeling......
