Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Tulane
Those watching on TV, was the facemask grabbed on Ben on the intentional grounding? Looked pretty obvious here

Dez drops another game.
FIFY
As Swiss cheese as the defense is, once again, a winnable game slips away.

Play calling in the 4th was horrific!

I think you’re being gracious with a couple of these. I’ll let you guess.

Nope. Fields doesn't get us half the points Wooldridge did today. This loss can't be placed on only the quarterback.

If we didn't give up that pick-6 and the opening kickoff return to the house in the second half.

Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Tulane
____ poor play calling and I’m sorry but 19/34 is not good QB play. Not to mention 1 pick 6 and another INT when you are trying to win the game. Fail across the board.

Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Tulane
Ben wasn't great today, but he did enough on his part to win. His biggest mistake was the pick 6, but that could have been on the RB/WR which ran straight and didn't come back for the ball. Can't tell who was wrong on that. Doesn't matter though, defense was so bad, we didn't really have much of a chance.

To be fair the first interception was on the receiver, the one at the end of the game it looked like his arm was hot plus it was 4th and long so he was trying to make a play

Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Tulane
Ben was off today. Passes were all over the place but the crap play calling made it worse.

Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Tulane
… we would have found another way to lose?

Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Tulane
Offense in general was fine. 33 pts is pretty decent. Consistent output with OU vs TU. We did MUCH better than K State.
Scoring 33 while Ben missed several open receivers in 1st half. Plus 1 wide open drop.
Pass defense was meh. That 3rd and 13 completion was a killer.
Rushing defense was the YUGE variance. Not able to tackle RB at 1st contact was THE difference in game. That Dude was fun to watch. Sucked for us but I loved his drive to finish every run.

We Hit the RB at the line and he gets 9 out of the play. Crazy

Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Tulane
Ben was under pressure the majority of the game. This is the reason we need players like Zeon Chriss and Levi Lewis. Pass protection has been and will continue to be a problem when we go up against good teams. When Houston poached our QB it all but ensured that we won’t be winning the big games.

Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Tulane
Can't give away 14 points for nothing and expect to win.

Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Tulane
Quarterbacks need to stay out of the weight room on bye weeks.

I don't necessarily count the kickoff return as giving up 7. We weren't stopping their running game, they would have scored 7.
That pick six literally killed everything, if we go down and score instead we go into the half with the lead vs down

Quit. This has always been a bad take by you and it will always be a bad take by you.

Speaking of Zeon, he might end up their starter. The stats this year and their fans seem to suggest that the starter, Smith isn't better than him. They got shut out 34-0 with Zeon playing mop up duty and the coaches running him as a wildcat. Looks like he would be in a better situation here than there.

Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Tulane
The two teams were more evenly matched than I expected. Several inexplicable errors we just couldn’t afford against that team. The Des era continues to be littered with close losses and games that got away.
