At least with his walmart gear and going to bar instead of paying directly, he did not put any money directly into lswho and woke disney coffers unlike many on here do unintentionally

It’s the main reason I harp on Greek life. I wasn’t a Greek, in fact we beat the ____ out of the Greeks after a yell like hell. Went to Frat Row and beat their ass.
But, we need to grow the Greek organizations dramatically! Put academic, community service and athletic attendance requirements. If they continue to meet those requirements let them grow. Bring in new chapters and give them an opportunity to grow as well.
On campus undergraduate students need to grow to 20,000. Post graduate students need to get to 5000. That should be priority number 1.
Greek life should account for 40% of the student population. The administration will never allow it. But that’s how we grow!
We heard about that as pledges in '99. My memory is telling me it was the SAE house that was on the receiving end. They said (our actives, not SAE) that Stokley hauled ass after and hid under our bar in the chapter house.
College Football IS College.

What was the original reason for the altercation? Something about a pep rally skit or sign?

Single game parking pass at LSU, kinda close to the stadium, $300 a game. Yet we have people complain about free parking.

WE WILL NEVER CONVERT LSU FANS!
Some where between 60-75k students have graduated in the last 30 years. Most of those were LSU fans. The time to convert this fans are when they are on campus. As we have seen the university does a poor job of getting student participation and cultivating our future donors and base.
I agree that we don't do a good job cultivating our own fan base. To influence people, you need to know who they are and some in the administration seem to have no clue as to who they are trying to influence.
"Some where between 60-75k students have graduated in the last 30 years. Most of those were LSU fans." Not sure how you confirm any truth to the fandom statement. It's simply not true. That's some TSAB message board conjecture right there.

Not conjecture at all. If you ram a poll of every citizen in the state on their fandom. The numbers would easily point that out.
The overwhelming majority of fans in this state are LSU fans. You can combine every other fanbase in the state and it is still way behind LSU fans. Those are facts.

This is absolutely true. They do a great job of indoctrinating kids from a very early age.

I grew up a LSU fan as my brother went to LSU. I came to USL and listened to LSU football while watching movies in Lafayette. One thanksgiving week I decided to go watch the basketball team. A young sophomore had taken over the team from Winkler. From that moment on I was 100% converted to being a Cajun fan. Y’all can thank Coach Shipley and Lamar.
You have to get them young and you can’t get anyone without hard work.

Are you talking about graduates from our university? If so, we can just agree to disagree.

Re: How to pack Cajun Field against Texas State?
This is pure conjecture on my part, but my guess is:
85% of freshmen entering UL are either Acadiana-commuter LSU fans or apathetic towards college sports. By the time they graduate, I think only 10% are converted to care about UL athletics.
Ways to increase % of grads caring about athletics:
1. Get students to live on-campus and engage in extracurriculars. (I think there's a push towards that).
2. Bolster, reinvigorate, and support Greeks (opposite of that is happening).
3. Exposure/exposure/exposure. Students on campus should see signage of athletics' home games and schedules around campus. Athletics emails should be sent out to all student louisiana.edu emails with an opt-out. (Unsure of this happening)
3a. Where do students hang out now? Where is the communal gathering place with no strip? Is it DT (Marley's)? Find where students are gathering and promote games there and deck it out in Cajun swag. Create a sense of community.
4. Make tailgating great again

Good observation.
I went to UL from 89-93. On any weekend, there were several thousand students at The Strip, and most of them weren't Greeks. It did build community as I made many friends there and would recognize and talk to many students on campus that I otherwise would not have.

Re: How to pack Cajun Field against Texas State?
My personal observation. I was at USL in the mid-late 70’s. Probably half of my friends/acquaintances who went to USL are LSU fans first and foremost, some never mention UL. I suspect it’s worse now. Sadly our leadership over the past 30-40 years has done NOTHING to fix this!

Yea I’m talking about graduates. The majority of those students, whether you admit it or not are Tiger first fans. They come here for school only and go to LSU on Saturdays. That’s the cold hard truth.
Take a trip on a Saturday to BR and see how many 20-40 years olds from Lafayette are there. Way more than stay here I can tell you that.

Both are currently at UL's disposal, neither is being utilized.

It's just a difference of opinion on something that would take a lot of work and polling to confirm if it even could.
I do know one person I work with that went to UL and only supports TSAB. Aside from that, the people I know, went to school with and work with that graduated from UL fall into one of three categories. They are UL fans only, support both or another school, or are just not concerned with sports altogether. I also know some TSAB graduates that do not have sports on their radar at all. But that's just one person's circle and perception.
Regardless, we agree that our university needs to do a better job influencing and cultivating its own graduates. You've got 4 years to indoctrinate, and it should be easy to get a large percentage of graduates to get in the boat. Heck, when I started at UL, I was not a college sports fan at all. I left a diehard, so it worked on me.

Re: How to pack Cajun Field against Texas State?
Of only there was a way for grads to retain ownership of their university experience email...
It would go a long way in their staying connected.

Every Saturday home game for 4 years we had pre game at our fraternity house with roughly 60 guys. That changed every year due to graduation. Always some going out and some coming in. I would say about 80% of those guys when I talk to them today they call LSU us and UL y’all since they know I am a big cajuns.
I can say that same thing for some of my high school class mates as well one has an undergrad and masters from here.
That is more of the normal not the exception for the vast majority of people I know close to me or just casually.
